Don’t underestimate the intelligence value of capturing this one alive. He’s young and likely to break under intense interrogation.

How much more information does government need? What are they looking for they don't already know?

The family has already been questioned regarding possible terrorist activities in the past and one of these foreign criminals should have been deported at other crimes committed in the U.S. in 2009.

In addition, what kind of terrorist set off bombs in broad daylight, with cameras everywhere, and then walk a few blocks away and goes home?

Just guessing, but this does not seem too sophisticated.

Oh, you’re right. We shouldn’t even try. Instead, we should just shoot him on the spot, then second-guess ourselves later when a previously unidentified compatriot of his shoots up a mall.

Hindsight is 20/20, I guess.

(Although some of us are gifted with a nifty thing called “foresight.” You should look into it. It’s really cool.)
