Cause of Texas fertilizer plant blast that killed up to 15 'suspicious:' source

A senior Obama administration official said a series of briefings overnight have produced concern the Texas blast could have been at least criminal in nature. Authorities are trying to contain their speculation for fear of causing a panic, but the official told The Post the cause of the blast is "suspicious."

Authorities suspect the blast was set off by a truck or rail car holding a large quantity of ammonia that somehow caught fire or blew up. Ammonia, under certain conditions, can become combustible or explosive.

"It's 50-50," the source said. "Some sort of explosion caused the ammonia truck/rail car to create a shockwave up to a half-mile away, destroying that little town."

"He said to the 911 dispatch: “A BOMB JUST WENT OFF IN HERE!” then asked for more assistance. It could have been an expression of the suddenness of the fire and its spread, but those are his exact words. Don’t know if it was retained in the official broadcast later."

Just saw / heard them rebroadcast the fireman's "bomb" comment.

I've been through West many times... that was one HUGE explosion!

Here is the animated gif that was slowed down. I tried to watch the one with the dad and his little girl (witnessing the explosion) and it just broke my heart to hear that baby scared.

That video has been debunked. That explosion happened a few years back, the little girl and her father were not witnesses to the explosion near Waco.

A fire caused the explosion. Not UFO’s..

Found the YouTube video here:

Not sure how to search the FR archives but it was a ‘Primetime Special’ show and set up from the get go and it was done in West, Texas. We had a thread here because I remember posting in it in outrage. If you find the archive on FR let me know.

18 All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house. 19 But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

It seems as though each time we have an attack, there is another bad event on its tail and that event is called an “accident” Remember the plane that went down over LI after the Trade center?

Thanks!! Be interesting to read it although I don’t think the West explosion is terror at this point. I do trust Texas officials to tell us the truth though.

it’s looking like the Boston bombing was Muslim terrorism, and it seems like the powers-that-be knew in advance and are working to stall and/or get the perps out of town before anybody knows who did it.

And there is not a single honest individual with a conscience among those "powers that be" to rat them out?

One of the networks said that there were many tons of ammonium nitrate stored there. Maybe 100 tons.

"100 tons"? You ain't seen nothing yet!

On 21 September 1921 an explosion in a nitrogenous fertilizer plant near Oppau Germany involving some 4,500 tonnes of ammonium sulphonitrate fertilizer detonated creating a 90meter X 125meter crater, over 20meters deep. The official casualty report listed 561 deaths, 1,952 injured and 7,500 people left homeless. The explosion was heard in Munich, 275km from the plant.

On April 16, 1947, A French vessel the SS Grandcamp loaded with 2,300 tons of ammonium nitrate to be turned into fertilizer. Docked at the Port of Texas City it erupted in flames, causing a massive explosion that killed approximately 576 people and flattened 1,000 buildings in the city. All of the city's firefighting equipment was destroyed in the blast and 26 firemen were killed. A second ship at the port, also carrying ammonium nitrate, caught fire in the blast and exploded 16 hours later. With the destruction of the city's fire-fighting equipment in the first blast, Texas City was helpless to contain the damage of the second blast.

It was the worst industrial accident in U.S. history.

Accidents and human stupidity have created a long history of destruction through the improper handling of chemical fertilizers.

Regards,
GtG

PS Ammonium nitrate is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the air) and when shipped or stored in bulk tends to clump together into a solid, concrete-like mass. Accepted practice used to be to bore holes and break up the mass using dynamite. Sound like a good idea to you?

For those of you speculating about the cause of the West Texas explosion, ammonium nitrate is not all that easy to set off. It is widely used to quarry rock as it is fairly safe to handle, even when mixed with fuel oil (ANFO). The accepted practice is to use det cord and blasting caps to set off a high explosive (dynamite) in each bore hole as a primer to get the ANFO started. However, in large bulk piles of ammonium nitrate, if a fire starts and is not promptly extinguished, it is possible to get a spontaneous detonation. A fifty pound sack of 0-0-32 fertilizer is perfectly safe w/o the primer.

In the Texas City disaster in 1947, both of the ships that detonated were on fire for hours before they blew. The problem they had there was getting water on the fire in the hold of the French ship. The fire was so hot that hull plating was visibly glowing. By the time the second ship caught fire there was nothing left of the Texas City fire department to even try. Nether fire was controlled because ammonium nitrate is an oxidizer which means it liberates oxygen as it decomposes, allowing any available fuel to burn quite readily.

Regards,
GtG

Like oil refineries, these are GREAT targets of opportunity.

By blowing up this one it sure as hell caused a lot of devistation and loss of life. If YOU lived next door, you might think different.

Maybe the press conferences were repeatedly rescheduled by people who were trying to rat them out. Maybe Obama had to throw his little temper tantrum on TV yesterday in order to provide an excuse to not have the press conference, after the bomb threat to the precise place where the press conference was going to be had provided a temporary excuse.

Obviously I could be totally mistaken, but my gut tells me there could be a mutiny going on behind the scenes.

I’ve done enough watching and in-depth investigation on a couple different agencies that I know that at this point if there is anybody willing to blow the whistle on this regime, it is a major, major step forward.

You only have to look at what happened with Fast and Furious to know how many leaders in various agencies went along with that whole false flag operation, and how the whistle-blowers were dealt with - even though the purpose of the operation was for innocent people to be killed, in order to create an outcry for political gain. It’s sick and we’d all like to believe it couldn’t happen in America, but unfortunately it already has in that instance, and Benghazi is shaping up similarly. It’s the same way it’s gone with Obama’s eligibility.

Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is big-time trouble. We’re past number three already, and at this point everybody ought to know what kind of regime we’re dealing with.

“Prayers that this is not terrorism. If it is...none of us are safe anymore.”

So long as Islam exists, no one is ‘safe”.

Wrapping one’s self in the Second Amendment is the American birth right. Our responsibility to us and our descendants is to elect a government willing to honor the threat of Islam and willing/able to destroy Islam before it destroys us.

ISLAM DELENDA EST - Because of what Islam is
Because of what Muslims do
