The Texan who stole the show at Margaret Thatcher's funeral

After being carried through the streets of London in a flag-draped coffin aboard a gun carriage, former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher was laid to rest this morning in St. Paul's Cathedral. But the big story of the day wasn't Maggie. No, it was a 19-year-old Texan who stole the show from the deceased Iron Lady.

With a poise reminiscent of the elder Thatcher, Amanda Thatcher, Margaret's granddaughter, delivered a reading from Epistles that has the British media agog. Amanda, who lives with her mother in Texas, chose a rather militant passage that calls on believers to "put on the whole armour of God."

Maybe it is a random event. I occasionally get it from Breitbart and that doesn’t make me happy either.

That is an attractive young lady. I wonder if she really behaves the same way? If she does, what a catch.

Bet the protesters don’t have anyone who looks that beautiful or could even read. Classy.

Thank You Lady Thatcher

True. Obama would just grandstand and defile the funeral by his presence.

Wow..
I didn’t know Margaret Thatcher had a granddaughter living in Texas. But it fits.

I believe that Miss Thatcher did not choose the reading. It is my understanding that that passage is always the Epistle reading for members of the Order of the Garter.

Now that's one heck of a piece of trivia. However did you find that out? (Enquiring minds want to know!)

Try this, it works for me most of the time.

When you load the page, immediately hit the STOP LOADING icon in the address bar.

I use Firefox, so when a page is loading, there is an X on the extreme right of the bar. Punch that X, the page quits loading the script that calls up that ugly REGISTER page.

You can read the whole thing, and see the video, without problems.

Unless you use IE. Then, you’re on your own!

And Our Quisling who sleeps at 1600 Penn. Ave. did not send a single representative to the funeral

Neither the Quisling-in-Chief or the Vice-Idiot received an invitation to the funeral...on purpose. The Brits obviously wanted a dignified ceremony, NOT a Bama photo op.

Invited: US President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama are considering whether to be at Baroness Thatcher's funeral next week

Uhhh. This says otherwise and I have read it elsewhere. It also said that all living presidents were invited.

love it!!!!!!!!!!

Those heathens must have been burning while she read that.

I pray the helmet of salvation, shield of faith, swordd or of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, belt of truth and shoes of the gospel of peace upon my children, myself and our guardian angels every day, sometimes several times a day.

Written from Rome unto the Ephesians by Tychicus.

Ephesians 1

Sorry, I wasn't that impressed. Her delivery was rather wooden, though she is a comely lass. Methinks the blog overstated the reaction.

Amanda, like her brother, are native born Americans.

And are therefore every bit as qualified to be president some day as that guy occupying the White House.

I don’t know if Mrs. Thatcher was saved...

...but I do know she saved Britain.

That's not militant in any way.

Will she be eligible to run for president?
