Family: An MSNBC contributor revisits the statist notion that while you gave birth to your children and feed and clothe them, they are only on loan to you by their true parent — a benevolent and all-knowing government.
Melissa Harris-Perry, an African-American professor at Tulane, has endorsed the concept of human ownership by the state, something we thought history would teach her is a bad thing, saying in a promo for MSNBC that "we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families and recognize that kids belong to whole communities.
"We have never invested as much in public education as we should have because we've always had a private notion of children; your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We haven't had a very collective notion of these are our children," Harris-Perry opined.
Our children? It is an idea most famously expressed in recent years by Hillary Clinton in her 1990s best-seller, "It Takes A Village," but it is hardly a new idea.
Collectivists throughout history have said that children do and should belong to the state and that if you control the children, you control the future.
One well-known collectivist echoed such sentiments when he said, "Let me control the textbooks and I will control the state. The state will take youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing. Your child belongs to us already... what are you?"

Call John Gacy an evil man in a public meeting and, absent a few dead bodies lying at his feet, most of the public will turn on you and decide that the messenger is the sociopath and a continental liar besides, and discount everything you are saying.
People don't like to change their opinion of someone who has "gotten to them", "gotten in their face" and "made the sale". They will whip your ass for trying to turn them around and save them from their contract with Mephistophilis.

Romania had a great system where women were paid to produce children for the state. Just ask any Bucharest street orphan how well it worked out.

It seems to me that there was this guy starting out in Germany in the thirties that had a similar opinion about children. I don’t think that turned out well either.
We have some in our family at the same stage as you, saying these same things.
It is heartbreaking to know what they’ve lived thru, served our country, marveled at grandchildren taking up the mantle, but get really down from time to time - since 2009 to be sure...

We have never expected life to be fair & we did expect that one day our country would go the way of the Roman Empire. We did not expect the avalanche to come this quickly. The last ten years have had more effect on our culture than all of the years before it. Their plans are coming to fruition. We did not stop them.
Now we will see if there is enough backbone left in us to stop the avalanche.
The time has arrived.
I did not intend to ramble on like this but we are truly perplexed by the situation & like many others we are ready to defend our constitution.
