High court poised to upend civil rights policies

Has the nation lived down its history of racism and should the law become colorblind?

Addressing two pivotal legal issues, one on affirmative action and a second on voting rights, a divided Supreme Court is poised to answer those questions.

In one case, the issue is whether race preferences in university admissions undermine equal opportunity more than they promote the benefits of racial diversity. Just this past week, justices signaled their interest in scrutinizing affirmative action very intensely, expanding their review as well to a Michigan law passed by voters that bars ‘‘preferential treatment’’ to students based on race. Separately in a second case, the court must decide whether race relations — in the South, particularly — have improved to the point that federal laws protecting minority voting rights are no longer warranted.....

The only conceivable way racial diversity might make any sense is in Technicolor. Unfortunately all the proponents and opposition in these cases are limited to no more than simple black and white concepts.

I need read no further after the first sentence, undoubtedly we will be lectured by the elite on how Americans committed the original sin, and will never ever be forgiven now 100s of years later.

...RIOTS in the streets.

It's about time. Let's get it on and over with. Then the power of the threat goes away.

My eyes are all misty over the prospect of ditching almost five decades of institutionalized anti-white racism. Of course we all know it will never happen simply because it’s such a lucrative racket.

Diversity is a Higher Law that trumps mere man-made documents like the Constitution or the Bill of Rights.

Anyway, wasn't that one of Jefferson's accusations against King George in the Declaration of Independence? "He has failed to value Diversity."

You cannot cure racism with a further act of racism.
Indeed what we have her is not only institutionalization government sanctioned racism. We have a policy of an eye of one innocent generation for the eye of a previous generation.

What kind of racist “justice” is that?

Yep and “institutionalized racism” (aff action) is actually WORSE than arbitrary racism by free individuals because the STATE is an agent for discrimination for and against individuals on the basis of skin color. What a scary thought.

Ummm wait... it exist in our country today.

There is nothing “Affirmative” about Affirmative Action. It’s evil to the core.

Why do the liberals have a knack for concocting such feel-good sound bytes to mask the evil that lurks within??? (”Diversity” “Outreach” “Political Correctness” “Inclusion” “Tolerance”).

the left needs a more disguised “victim class”

skin color was not offesive enough for thought crime.

now they have to go to feeeelings to establish thought crime.

opposed feeeeeeelings and you comit a thought crime.

(for those in rio linda, it is the behavior of homosexual acts that establish this new learned victim behavior)
