CNN) -- Police released new documents related to the shootings last year at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, but a motive for the attack by the troubled young man remained elusive.

Included in the information released Thursday is the report that a gun safe was found in the bedroom of 20-year-old Adam Lanza, who took guns belonging to his mother, Nancy, and shot her in her forehead in her bed. Then he went to the school in Newtown, where he gunned down 20 children and six staff members before killing himself.

Investigators found more than 1,600 rounds of ammunition in the house, and a holiday card with a check "made out to Adam Lanza for the purchase of a C183 (firearm), authored by Nancy Lanza," according to a search warrant.

I think the mother was in the process of having the little POS commited and the process was in motion.
I also think the state has the paper work some where and is sitting on it.It may be some of the info NOT released today.
I also think the kid was aware of this and decided to take out the mom and make the history books.
He wasnt going to be commmited.

That would probably get me added to a list of gun nuts somewhere. I’ll pass, and leave them to their stupidity.

She was trying to get help. The info surfaced right after the shooting and then just vanished into thin air.

A 12 gauge in the glove compartment? With 70 rounds in two magazines? I know that’s right.

What threw up a red flag for me was the medical examiner said they were shot with .223 rounds and none were through and through wounds. I find that really hard to believe at that close range for impact.” Something stinks in the state of Connecticut”

Maybe, but if I was afraid of someone, the last thing I would give them is a gun.

You got to have one hell of a glove compartment to put 70 12 gague shotgun shells. Bet, it was written for the slaves edification, so who cares about truthfulness as long as it sounds good.

Future mass murderers will be found wearing an NRA hat, carrying ammo in an NRA logo bag and have their NRA ‘certificate’ in their glove box.

Plus a signed letter from Wayne LaPierre telling them they rock at “Call of Duty” .And they will find a signed letter from Sarah Palin saying the shooter’s mom should be awarded “Mom of the year”.

You are right (if it is really what's been said), it makes no sense at all.

Seems to me they (who know what they are, TPTB for now) just want to confuse the public continuously. Even after four months.

Is it because the original reports shortly after the shooting were incorrect but entrenched in public minds? Even the official ‘official reports’ have some inconsistencies between them.

I know close to nothing what officially happened that day.

Investigators found more than 1,600 rounds of ammunition in the house

Since DHS is getting approx 21,000 rounds per each of their 70,000 agents allegedly for target practice what is the big deal about 1600 rounds for two people?

See post #33.
Those C183s should be banned.

So who bought them? Is this to dispute the ‘registration wouldn’t have stopped Lanza’ argument?

We will never know. This has been ridiculous from the start. NONE OF IT MAKES SENSE. How many bullets did they he fired within like 10 minutes?
