The chord changes at :30 blew me clear out of my chair when I first heard this in the fall of 1966. They were the top group in Australia, and this song scored high on the British charts, too. It was a genuine sleeper, slowly drifting up the charts week after week. This week it jumped up to #84 on its way to the Top 20.

Thanks, Connie, for the red, white, and blue Tribite To Our Troops. *HUGS*

Did your Friday go well to complete the week?

Hope Friday traffic was tolerable.

Back to work on Monday for me. I think I’ve touched base with most everyone at least once. Now waiting on paperwork, All is well except the crud had descended upon me...back to my bed. Will try to get on later, as sleep is not going well. d:o)

“They were the top group in Australia,”

I always liked, “Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavor On The Bedpost Overnight” from Australia. *snicker*

“as my dear sweet hubby painted the ceilings today”

So.....he’s not worthless, after all? LOL

I try to mix the music from Salsa to other genres to fake people out and wake them up!

This marked a change of pace for the Turtles. The song had been rejected by countless groups before the Turtles accepted it, and it was said that the grooves on the demo record had been worn off. The writers must have been strapped for a rhyme when they used the line, “How is the weather?” This came in at #8.

The Turtles: “Happy Together”
