About 2005, I turned in my cable T.V. and never looked back. I had my computer and could watch the shows that I wanted to watch, when I wanted to watch, and avoid the annoying commercials. (I would occasionally miss the robotic remote-control clicking, but not by much). I also realized that there was this thing called Outside, and I meant to get me a larger chunk of it (for sanity and health).

When I would go to my sisters' for the holidays, and they would have T.V. on, I was horrified (and, like you, no prude) at the state of what passed/passes for the New Normal Ratings and Content. Horrified.

I don't mind at all, salty language and salty situations, but F-bomb this and F-bomb that and the Seven-Things-You-Can't-Say-On-T.V. are now the new normal? When did that happen? Even those annoying commercials are even more annoying, emasculating, and filled with drivel.

Sigh. When children, teenagers, and college kids are fed a steady diet of pablum, racism, ignorance, greed, envy, sloth, rage and anger, reverse racism, sexism, misogyny, misandry, glorification of homosexuality and deviant behaviors, the destruction of morality and ethics, the championed destruction of marriage and family, the emasculation of men and boys, and the conspicuous and intentional absence of anything related to morals, ethics, personal responsibility, personal accountability, and God-- it is no wonder that T.V. is a great and terrible factor in the destruction of Western civilization.

No role models, no teaching right from wrong, no rational actors/politicians/newsmen and women/men and women of the cloth/etc., standing up and fighting for what's right in this country, our culture, language, and institutions.

And history will record that we did it to ourselves.

Does not really matter if she was a “slut” or not. The 16 year old girl was drugged, dragged from house to house and gang raped.
