last year, after long reflection, I concluded that there can be no discrimination against gay people who should have a right to marry. I felt it was important to articulate what this administration stands for. When SCOTUS asked me what I think, I told them.

Well, for Pete’s sake, Americans have been experiencing hurt as long as he has been president and he doesn’t even know that! It’s only gov’t employees that can be hurt, he says.

How can you, as president, stop the country fro "careening from crisis to crisis"?

With the Violence Against Women Act and increased pre-school education we are helping to stop this. With regards to the budget I have tried to make clear that we need a fresh approach to deficit reduction, to rebuilding bridges and highways...

Now on to the important stuff--gay marriage. Why not just let everyone decide personally what the definition of marriage is. Why not three people or why set an age limit or why prohibit marriage among siblings?

This so-called press conference is a farce. No challenging questions. And the reporters are asking how we can force these Reps to compromise and concede.

Now it is on to roads and bridges, i.e., more spending.

Boehner had a chance to make his case a few minutes ago but instead he made a terse comment and walked away.

That's a big part of the problem, right there.

Inability (or unwillingness) to communicate the republican/conservative position, to match democrat oraters word for word, is about 50% of the reason democrat liars have been able to trounce republicans in public opinion year after year.

It led to democrats being successful in demonizing George Bush, It helped Obama beat John McCain, it played a big part in his win over Romney and it is why ignorant people continue to believe in him.

Obama not only defines himself to the public - he defines republicans too.

And they let him do it.

Obama spews copius amounts of bullcrap in every speech he makes but republicans do not effectively counter his lies, half-truths and exagerations.

He is a glib, silver tongued liar, just like the old travelling elixer peddlers.
If Obama hadn't made a fortune in politics as the Pied Piper of the greedy and uninformed, he could have made millions as the Sham-Wow! salesman on TV.

Agree with both of you. IMO, it's probably best Bohner says as little as possible...when he does speak at any length he slurs his words and comes across as unclear. Besides that, he'd probably start crying after a couple of sentences.

Sequester Update #3: Conditions remain highly volatile here in the Lone Star State. I’ve noticed clouds forming outside of my office window. With hundreds of NOAA staff on furlough, we just can’t be certain if it is going to rain OR IF THE SUN ITSELF HAS GONE DARK.
