WASHINGTON -- Bob Woodward isn't the only person who's received threats for airing the Obama administration's dirty laundry. It seems anyone is a potential target of the White House these days - even former senior members of the Clinton administration.
A day after Woodward's claim that a senior White House official had told him he would "regret" writing a column criticizing President Obama's stance on the sequester, Lanny Davis, a longtime close advisor to President Bill Clinton, told WMAL's Mornings on the Mall Thursday he had received similar threats for newspaper columns he had written about Obama in the Washington Times.
Davis told WMAL that his editor, John Solomon, "received a phone call from a senior Obama White House official who didn't like some of my columns, even though I'm a supporter of Obama. I couldn't imagine why this call was made." Davis says the Obama aide told Solomon, "that if he continued to run my columns, he would lose, or his reporters would lose their White House credentials."
Hey, Lanny Davis. Names, or it didn’t happen. Same thing I told Woodward. If these threats happened, and you’re too intimidated to give the name of who issued them, then I’d say they worked. You guys are acting like a couple of little girls.

As editor-in-chief of National Journal, I received several e-mails and telephone calls from this White House official filled with vulgarity, abusive language, and virtually the same phrase that Woodward called a veiled threat. “You will regret staking out that claim,” The Washington Post reporter was told. Once I moved back to daily reporting this year, the badgering intensified. I wrote Saturday night, asking the official to stop e-mailing me.

Typical Axelrod MO: He is a master of digging dirt to the point of having friendly justices open sealed divorce records: For example:
Blair Hull in 2008 primary taken out by allegations from sealed divorce records. Hull was leading up in multi person primary including Dear Leader until some pretty bad allegations the week before the election came out. Thus Dear Leader wins primary in 2004
Jack Ryan taken out after Chicago Tribune (aka Libune) where Axelrod worked obtained sealed divorce records which had some nasty stuff. Ryan was actually favored to beat Dear Leader in Senate election. Ryan backed out of race and Dear Leader romped Alan Keyes
Herman Cain taken out in primaries by sexual harassment charges. Isnt it a coincidence the main accuser who was bound by confidentiality lived in the same builiding and maybe even the same floor as Axelrod. Another rival taken out

...and that's what he's doing here. He's trying to play down the seriousness of the threats. "Oh, they said that to me too, and I just told them it wasn't appropriate and they stopped". Meanwhile, Plouff is running around calling Woodward senile. As usual, instead of getting on the same page, the White House is getting on all of them at the same time, hoping somebody will find one of them persuasive.
There are going to dozens by the time this is over.
1. They want to make it appear like it’s no big deal - that Woodward can’t take the heat and he’s a senile whiner.
2. By jumping on the bandwagon, they elevate their own importance and get TV face time.
“I’m feeling a “Look at Me!” movement here. I wonder who the next presstitute to be threatened by the White Hut will be?”
I can’t for the life of me imagine why you would have a problem with Obama’s thug tactics being exposed for the liberal world to see.
I have said many times the administration is nothing more than “The Chicago Way Does DC.”
Always wondered why Olympia Snowe voted Healthcare Bill out of committee. Were it not for that.......
