I stopped by a local dealer who sells Dillon reloading equipment, he did a demo of the machine and I was truly amazed at how easy it looks to reload.

I am truly thinking of buying the machine and supplies, even if it costs me the same to reload as it does to buy new for a short period if time I will at least have more and more ammo so we can not worry about going to the range or action pistol shooting....

I have a 550B and you won’t regret the purchase.... dillon stands by its product and has great customer service.

Majority of my use of that setup is for pistol ammo. I do churn out .223 paper and steel fodder with it for 3 gun yet like a single stage press for my long range sod poodle and yote rifles.

Of late have also been using cast bullets in my old surplus em fields and Krags that are “paper patched” .... Soft lead cast bullet no Linotype etc , just soft pure lead from old scuba diving weight belts and wheel weights, scrap lead where I can find it. Works really well, simple to do and doesn’t lead up the lands and groves.

When I can take trash components and 100 year old rifles and hit coyotes at 800 plus its a fun day.

I did recut the chamber of my enfield to 7.62x54R with a table top conversion just using a finishing reamer and a inert round as my headspace gauge. If ya reload the conversion you have to set the barrel back a few thousandths or it will fireform the brass. If ya have a wall of the old Russian 1600 round tins you paid 130$ US for long ago then ignore the need to set back the barrel. Also recut the crown. I used a 230gr 45 auto round chucked into my drill press and used some clover valve grinding compound to clean up my old enfields crown. Worked perfect, take the time to true it all up and enjoy the old stuff.

Picked up this conversion from Jim Hoffield that runs or did the ranger outreach center in New Mexico long ago. SF advisors were having a hard time getting .303 for the old and plentiful enfields for their local militias but the chi coms were flooding the battlefield with 7.62X54R ammo.... Few hand tools, dummy round as a go / no go gauge etc and a climber finishing reamer and you have reliable ammo and weapons. Give it a peek at the link.... You won’t be disappointed . Same cups pressures etc as the .303 pretty much, around 45000 etc ...

Don’t scrimp on dies, redding is my favorite, Sinclair and creedmore etc have lots of goodies but for one stop chopping go midway and Brownell’s .

Stay safe ! ?... sorry for the reloading rant !
