WASHINGTON – Harry Belafonte, entertainer, long-time left-wing activist and admirer of Third World dictators, inserted himself into the national debate on gun control when he claimed “white Americans” who agitate for gun rights are ignoring the black “river of blood that washes the streets of our nation.”
The actor was on hand to be honored at the 2013 NAACP Image Awards when he asserted in his acceptance speech that the “group most devastated by America’s obsession with the gun is African Americans.”
“Although making comparisons can be dangerous, there are times when they must be noted,” he said. ‘America has the largest prison population in the world. And of the over 2 million men, women and children who make up the incarcerated, the overwhelming majority is black. We are the most unemployed, the most caught in the unjust systems of justice, and in the gun game, we are the most hunted.”
Belafonte continued: “The river of blood that washes the streets of our nation flows mostly from the bodies of our black children. Yet, as the great debate emerges on the question of the gun, white America discusses the constitutional issue of ownership, while no one speaks of the consequences of our racial carnage.”

and the overwhelming majority of gun deaths of black “children” are due to other blacks,
so, if eliminating the gun is the solution,
then just make it illegal for those doing the shooting
to own the guns.

So...what he’s saying is that whites must have our 2A rights stripped, because blacks can’t help themselves from breaking the law with drive-by shootings, etc? Well, if that’s the way it works-blacks must have their right to have sex stripped away, as blacks commit the majority of interracial rape, something like 115-0. The rate of white-on-black rape is so low as to be statictically negligible, and there are NO instances of whites raping elderly black women. I will NOT have my 2A rights infringed because too many blacks won’t stop killing indiscriminately and ignoring exisitng gun laws (of which there are already too many). How are whites to blame in places like Chicago whe guns are practically completely outlawed, yet the black crime rate, especially that of gun crime, are through the roof How are whites to blame for that, when whites are held to the law, but blacks commit gun crime as if no laws exist?
Now, I wonder how it was that the thug/gangsta life was made to seem attractive....

Amazing. He correctly identifies the problem but completely misses on the cause. Actually, what he identifies as the effect IS the cause.
Now FRiend, that's the unvarnished truth that ought to be at the center of "Black History Month" instead of the platitudes that the liberals shove down the throats of schoolchildren. It's a must read and it parallels precisely what I found during that foolish, rebellious period of my youth when I was dues-paying member of the NAACP...truly black, white and RED all over.
He careful omits to say who does all the “hunting”. Hasn’t he heard that it’s against the law-for whites-to own most guns in the places where black gn violence-by blacks, upon mostly blacks but also some non-blacks-is the highest? Guess that wouldn’t fit his “evil whitey” narrative.
I wouldn’t want them as slaves.
But, I wouldn’t have a problem checking off a box on my tax return for the “Ship A Disgruntled Minority Back” fund.
