CNN Absurdly Asks If Rubio's Sip of Water Was 'Career-Ender' [video at link]
Newsbusters ^ | February 13, 2013 | Matt Hadro

On Wednesday's The Situation Room, host Wolf Blitzer absurdly wondered if Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) pausing his State of the Union response for a drink of water would "break" his career. The CNN chyron flashed "Career-ender?"

"So can a drink of water make or break a political career?" Blitzer asked. "A U.S. Senator, possible presidential candidate. We're going to find out, whether he likes it or not."

However, despite CNN claiming the headline was a joke, host Wolf Blitzer kept his serious demeanor for the beginning of the next segment when he noted the "social media frenzy" over Rubio's "awkward pause." The headline was certainly a tease though, as correspondent Kate Bolduan focused her report on Rubio's Florida background.

When did the low information voters start hating people who drink water? CNN sure has a weird audience. I guess that’s why it isn’t very large.

Good grief! They’re more concerned with this drink of water than Obama’s lies?!

Rachel Madcow had Rubio taking a drink of water looped and showed it constantly. These people don’t even realize how childish they are.

This is a glaring example of media bias.

Just observe. But don’t watch CNN if they’re going to be this way.

Let them shrink right down to nothing.

I haven’t watched CNN for many years. There is stupid and stupid and so stupid it’s hard to believe a person is standing. CNN has moved into that territory. They think taking a drink of water can drown a political career, and they think that global warming can influence the path of an asteroid. Why would anyone watch this channel?

“media” - a whole new low for low information voters”
The cast on these shows (I refuse to call them news or casters since they clearly have no skill set for the title) aren’t even qualified to flip burgers at McDonalds! Journalism in college is a joke.

Nothing absurd about it at all. That’s how they think. Benghazi is a bump in the road. This is a career ender.

Makes perfect sense once you accept the MSM is stone cold crazy. As they are 90+% liberal, that is a forgone conclusion.

We’ll know it’s a career-ender if Rubio starts apologizing, a la Boehner and McC.

Nah...but his constant support of amnesty for illegals as opposed to supporting US citizens....and his recent defense of Rove and his anti-Tea Party PAC probably is.

Let’s hope Rubio fires back with both barrels - and soon, before this nonsense takes root with their conservative-hating, non-thinking viewers.

It’s useless to act like you’re ‘above it all’ and ignore the onslaught, Mr. Rubio. There are no rules anymore in this game and nobody plays dirtier than the liberals.

Should be. But it won’t. People pointing this out will now be said to be siding with liberals.

Almost like it was planned that way.

Shamelessly pushing an agenda; the “media” sure have come out of the closet since getting their selected boy-king elected.

If anything it will get Rubio into the eyes of the low-information voters.

I think the positive outweighs the negative in this respect.

Unfortunately, the low-info newscasters don’t even talk about the words, just the water.

IDIOCRACY is less fictional by the day.

A hum-job in the Oval Office didn’t end Bill Clinton’s, but a pause for a drink of water ends Rubio’s.

Yea, that sounds right.
