Terrible way to go. I suppose he may have been dead already before the bear started eating him. His gruffy voice always made it easier to watch C Span in the late hours of the night.

The scruffy voice was what attracted the bear to begin with.
The bear, upon finding Dorner, freaked out about how the other bear would view him for being seen with a bear impersonator and mauled him to death.
