OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Eight people were arrested Monday at a construction site for the Keystone XL oil pipeline in central Oklahoma, including one man who locked himself to a crane-like piece of machinery, authorities said.

The two women and six men were arrested on trespassing complaints at the site near the town of Schoolton, Seminole County sheriff's Chief Deputy Chris Conn said. On woman also was cited for resisting arrest. None of their names has been released.

"We had several individuals on private property who refused to leave, and they were arrested for trespassing," Conn said. "One individual was chained to some equipment ... his wrists were chained together."

The organizers, Protesters from the Great Plains Tar Sands Resistance, cited environmental concerns and the oil extraction's impact on indigenous people as the reason for their protest.

you’re risking a bullet in the head

With you on that one. You shut down work on MY property you are taking food from the mouth of MY family.

It is no different from or better than theft. Steal from me and mine at your own peril.

I understand the sentiment......but neither one of you is going to "put a bullet in the head" of someone protesting...unless they physically threaten you or your family. Period.

Pour some of that oil over them, roll them in feathers from head to toe, then put them in stocks in the town square.

These sociopaths need a lesson that private property is still "no trespassing" in this country....at least till Obama and his crew go to work on private property during the next 24 months....which they will.

My point was....no one needs to be raining fire down on them....for basically "peacefully" protesting.

Okay, no fire.

Is water okay?

In Ok. it seems to hurt the Indians.

Funny thing here in Osage County, OK.....the Osage Tribe runs roughshod over all land owners here...and have standards below EPA standards.

Local land owners ( SURFACE ONLY) have near zero redress....and the Osage Tribe basically appears to not care about the land that they once owned...but about $$$$$$$$.

Depending on where you live the days for that are numbered.

NW loop of Grand Parkway is about to bust the whole NW sector out like an explosion. You won’t be able to stir them with a good sized stick all the way to College Station some day.

Best answer of all. Let that candy-ass ride the boom
of that crane for about 12 hours, and he’ll be crying for
his mommy!

>> I understand the sentiment

I don’t think you do. And I’m not sure you understand Texas castle doctrine and trespass law, and the ramifications thereof.

But since you’ve outed yourself as an “occupy” sympathizer, I don’t really care what you think.

So have a nice day, hippie sympathizer (You’re On Record!) — and for your health, it would be wise to stay off of my “lawn”. If you know what I mean (and I think you do).

If I am unwilling to shoot forewarned, unknown trespassers on my rural parcel of land, it isn’t out of respect for their personhood, their protest cause or their association with some self-appointed noble soul like you.

The only reason whatsoever is the sad fact of laws passed at the behest of sensitive ninnies like you, which would bring the heavy hand of the law to bear on ME, not on you or them.

Worse still you seem to be a lonely ninny looking for an argument in order to bolster a sense of moral superiority that no one else here recognizes, or even gives a crap about.

Go find a picket line to join or a petition to sign. Somebody of your sort will find you absolutely fascinating, I’m sure.

More associates of government-connected NIMBYs posing as environmentalists in their improper methods of competition. Disgusting. And as for “property values,” there are none. There won’t be any. Give it up, socialists.

Depending on where you live the days for that are numbered.

Actually, because of modern technology, they are probably safe for decades.

In the shadows of Houston's TV towers (Missouri City) the Fort Bend Toll Road cuts through this section that will never see homes built up within the falling radius of those towers.

Ah yes. And when the towers finally become obsolete because of wide spread use of internet based information transmission... what then? Jed or somebody is a millionaire.... again.

Nothing is static. The world is always passing even the passive by.

Where is the line between protestor and Enviro Terrorists?
The Spotted Owl idiots spiked trees which indangered loggers trying to earn an honest living, were they protestors or Enviro Terrorists?

Do you think something as harmless as the pipeline is not being over-protested in an anti-American ploy? These are not isolated incidents.

You give FR a bad name........
Maybe you protest too loudly.

"stay off my lawn"

Are you the old guy at the end of my block who used to keep our baseballs when we hit them in his yard?

Loops around Houston seem to be an ongoing development overtime. First was 610, then Beltway 8 and now the Grand Parkway. The Parkway when completed with have some 180 miles of road length according to their website.

ROFLOL..."hippy sympathizer"???? HA!!...And you "threatened me" on the "internet" Wow...I'm scared.

What the hell has happened to right thinkers here on FR?

Can you even tell me the post that I posted to here...and logically think that post thru???

FWIW- I'm not the enemy here.
