OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Eight people were arrested Monday at a construction site for the Keystone XL oil pipeline in central Oklahoma, including one man who locked himself to a crane-like piece of machinery, authorities said.

The two women and six men were arrested on trespassing complaints at the site near the town of Schoolton, Seminole County sheriff's Chief Deputy Chris Conn said. On woman also was cited for resisting arrest. None of their names has been released.

"We had several individuals on private property who refused to leave, and they were arrested for trespassing," Conn said. "One individual was chained to some equipment ... his wrists were chained together."

The organizers, Protesters from the Great Plains Tar Sands Resistance, cited environmental concerns and the oil extraction's impact on indigenous people as the reason for their protest.

Is that lib-speak for "people who make a bunch of money on royalties don't need Democrats any more"?

I would find it hilarious if they went before an Okie judge who was a real hard rump, who gave each of them six months.

Such individuals count on just a slap on the wrist, and spending six months holiday in a concrete box full of DUIs and meth heads would seriously realign their stuff.

Locked themselves to something? I never understood why a can of gas and a road flare aren’t used for this?

That might not be that bad a idea. /s

If they cant see past their noses, want to heat their homes, want to drive their cars while suffering Obama unemployment perhaps they are too stupid to live? That oil represents cheap energy and a healthier economy. It means jobs.

Also, less reliance on corn. If you note, Obama’s policies are driving up the cost of food as corn is pretty much the largest grain used in the overall economy.

These are just extortionists pretending to be environmentalists. These people always have an agenda and a list of demands. The agenda and list of demands is always similar. They want whoever is trying to build something or run something to give them money or they will shut it down. The only way to stop these people are tough prison sentences against the actual peps and RICO actions against the organizations that are pulling the strings and demanding the payoffs.

There’s protest, and then there’s preventing somebody from making an honest living, which IMO is a form of slavery. These guys are worse than union thugs blocking “scabs” from taking their jobs.

I’d say the first step is simply to leave them chained there and lock the site.

The problem with RED DEVIL's thinking is.....quite startling really.

If I peacefully protest against Ethanol production, am I a drone target.

If I peacefully protest against Wind "energy"..am I a drone target?

If I say something against the POTUS...am I a drone target?

ETC...........

Just a bunch of Nuevo Luddites who think people should be living in mud huts and eat crickets.

The guy on the crane is a youth pastor. Probably just out of college where he received a thorough brainwashing. The Right needs to make a huge push to reclaim higher education. We haven’t a chance of reclaiming the nation as long as the Left owns our colleges.

I could get them free real quick with a chainsaw and not damage the chain or lock!
