You could be right. All I know is if Benghazi drops any dems ratings even one point look for a new excuse.

They’ve got a willing and complicit media who will not touch this.

If they don’t report on it...it never happened right?

Great catch there onyx. Something we need to remember as well. If we don't like a nominee for any job you can be sure the next one will be even worse.

we are under attack from within. We need to take appropriate response, vote them out.

Do you think the whole thing a cia op? Will the administration use cia as an eventual excuse?

There is no doubt in my mind that our presence in Benghazi was a cover for a CIA operation. The annex was the operational headquarters. I don't view it as an excuse, but reality. I have no problem with the operation, but the security for it. If the host country was deemed unable to provide the needed protection then we needed to provide it or not be there. Simple as that.

If the purpose of the attack was not to hold Stevens as a hostage or to kill him because he knew too much why were they attacking?

The same reason AQ attacks us around the world. They had already attacked other Western presence in Benchazi including the UN, the Red Cross, and the British ambassador. They all pulled out and we were the last flag standing. And we had been hit several times before 9/11 when Ambassador Stevens wasn't even there.

Seems we had advance warning of terror attacks could be imminent that were near completely ignored by state, others. Does not make any sense unless there is more to the story.

Your post #74 was the most informed, insightful, and well thought out piece that I have read in 6 weeks here on FR regarding spending, sequestration, taxes, and Washington spin.

I believe that we didn't come to the rescue of our people and delayed securing the facilities for 23 days for diplomatic reasons. We didn't want to offend the nascent host government and the Libyan public who would view any unilateral action as a violation of their sovereignty.

And there was always the fear of collateral damage, which could galvanize opposition to the US presence in the country by AQ. I don't agree with the risk and sacrifice of US lives on the altar of diplomacy, but I have seen it done time and time again.

I did a fair share of ceremonies for seemingly innocuous civilian positions within the DoD and the Army after 2009. All of them had ties to the Clinton Administration or some Liberal think tank.

The potential replacement for Hagel...Michelle Flournoy is one of them.

The Libs have put little sleeper agents into just about every level of the bureaucracy imaginable. So that no matter who is President the march towards a Communist Utopia in the U.S. marches on.

Theyv’e been put into places to make determinations on SDI...strength and readiness and host of other positions that most people never hear about but have serious effects on the military as a whole.

Around every six years of so there is a short term alien abduction in South Carolina.

LOL!

Sen Graham tries, but doesn't always succeed.

He has been making a lot of sense on the national security front lately. Immigration, not so much.

We have lots of intelligence about possible attacks against our facilities all of time, but most of them never pan out. It is whether actionable intelligence was available that is the question. Someone in Washington viewed our presence in Benghazi to be more critical than the risk involved—a callous decision that demands accountability.

Exactly so. The democrats will confirm the two and I’ve heard that the one waiting in the wings after Hagel is worse. A militant woman.

I know who.

Is Chuck Hagel a stalking horse for Michele Flournoy for Secretary of Defense?

I think you are right on the mark. She was really Obama’s first choice. Now we can have the first woman SecDef replacing an obvious incompetent and flawed white male.

Channel surfing through the shows, and just watching Candy Crowley prompting some Ted Turner look-alike from Maine about the "ObamaDrone" softer, gentler form of enhanced interrogation, something occurred to me:

The Obama administration has probably already killed somebody, probably by accident, and now they are trying to get a policy agreed to by the media before the details come out. (By then, as the saying goes, "What Difference Does It Make?")

Didn't hear anybody connect the dots between ObamaDrones shooting missles into American homes to take out a suspect and the California police who are shooting up pickup trucks because they think Dorner might be inside.

When does Las Vegas start an over/under on how many Americans need to be dead from an ObamaDrone strike before the media takes notice? Hope the National Enquirer is on the case for this one.

[Credit where credit due.]

Not to put too sharp a point on this subject but Graham was elected our Senator here in SC because of ONE speech...the impeachment of Clinton.

It was a great and patriotic speech and the people gave him a great deal of credit for it, including me.

Since then he has proven himself not to be a great alternative to Strom Thurmond Conservatism but as a very small ‘r’ moderate republican.

G’s Onyx, I really don’t like to say things in a different way as you but we have been betrayed here in SC and the pain won’t go away until he has been replaced.
