That is good, but I kinda think its all political posturing on grahams part. He’s desperate to get re-elected in SC next year and he will say or do anything. We know that the chances of these guys not getting approved by the dem senate are near zero for the dear leader.
I’m aware of that, sweetest you, and I know he always comes around at election time, but he’s been rocking it in matters of Benghazi when others are silent and demonic-rats are circling Hitlery’s and the Marxist’s wagon.
Credit where credit due.
Credit to Leon Panetta, too.. He said what Petraus should have said.
A lot of Benghazi explanations just don’t make sense to many of us.
The knee problem is on me and it is what it is. May get better and may get worse. The hip problem runs in the family and will only get more challenging.
Exactly so. The democrats will confirm the two and I’ve heard that the one waiting in the wings after Hagel is worse. A militant woman. This was said by a Fox News contributor to Imus: retired Lt. Bill Gowan/Cowan, I think.....
Thanks for both of those blow by blow accounts.I think its what was “not” happening in dc that made the difference.
Help me out here - “Rove was the guy who wouldnt let Bush get out there and defend the lies.”
Are you saying that as bad as Bush was he was also an idiot and a sock puppet?
While Rove was, is and will be a RINO_Rat, please do not forget that all the Bushes are the same RINO_Rats.
More and bigger G’ment is NOT the answer
One and the same. Levin ripped him a new one last week for his comments about the TEA Party and lying on Hannity’s show about what Rep. Steve King said in reference to Todd Aiken.
You could be right. All I know is if Benghazi drops any dems ratings even one point look for a new excuse.
They’ve got a willing and complicit media who will not touch this.
If they don’t report on it...it never happened right?
we are under attack from within. We need to take appropriate response, vote them out.
Great! Mark is fearless! We are so lucky to have him and Rush on our side.
There is no doubt in my mind that our presence in Benghazi was a cover for a CIA operation. The annex was the operational headquarters. I don't view it as an excuse, but reality. I have no problem with the operation, but the security for it. If the host country was deemed unable to provide the needed protection then we needed to provide it or not be there. Simple as that.
If the purpose of the attack was not to hold Stevens as a hostage or to kill him because he knew too much why were they attacking?
The same reason AQ attacks us around the world. They had already attacked other Western presence in Benchazi including the UN, the Red Cross, and the British ambassador. They all pulled out and we were the last flag standing. And we had been hit several times before 9/11 when Ambassador Stevens wasn't even there.
As always TX its up to us to keep Benghazi alive. So far we have done a stellar job. Levin, Rush, judge Jeanine, the blogosphere, here, so many others.
Seems we had advance warning of terror attacks could be imminent that were near completely ignored by state, others. Does not make any sense unless there is more to the story.
And there was always the fear of collateral damage, which could galvanize opposition to the US presence in the country by AQ. I don't agree with the risk and sacrifice of US lives on the altar of diplomacy, but I have seen it done time and time again.
I did a fair share of ceremonies for seemingly innocuous civilian positions within the DoD and the Army after 2009. All of them had ties to the Clinton Administration or some Liberal think tank.
The potential replacement for Hagel...Michelle Flournoy is one of them.
The Libs have put little sleeper agents into just about every level of the bureaucracy imaginable. So that no matter who is President the march towards a Communist Utopia in the U.S. marches on.
Theyv’e been put into places to make determinations on SDI...strength and readiness and host of other positions that most people never hear about but have serious effects on the military as a whole.
Msybe. the truth will finally come out. Plan on reading this book.
It was nice of Nan to correct his grammar.
Sen Graham tries, but doesn't always succeed.
He has been making a lot of sense on the national security front lately. Immigration, not so much.
We have lots of intelligence about possible attacks against our facilities all of time, but most of them never pan out. It is whether actionable intelligence was available that is the question. Someone in Washington viewed our presence in Benghazi to be more critical than the risk involved—a callous decision that demands accountability.
I know who.
I think you are right on the mark. She was really Obama’s first choice. Now we can have the first woman SecDef replacing an obvious incompetent and flawed white male.
UGH! Thanks very, very much SkyPilot!
The Obama administration has probably already killed somebody, probably by accident, and now they are trying to get a policy agreed to by the media before the details come out. (By then, as the saying goes, "What Difference Does It Make?")
Didn't hear anybody connect the dots between ObamaDrones shooting missles into American homes to take out a suspect and the California police who are shooting up pickup trucks because they think Dorner might be inside.
When does Las Vegas start an over/under on how many Americans need to be dead from an ObamaDrone strike before the media takes notice? Hope the National Enquirer is on the case for this one.
[Credit where credit due.]
Not to put too sharp a point on this subject but Graham was elected our Senator here in SC because of ONE speech...the impeachment of Clinton.
It was a great and patriotic speech and the people gave him a great deal of credit for it, including me.
Since then he has proven himself not to be a great alternative to Strom Thurmond Conservatism but as a very small ‘r’ moderate republican.
G’s Onyx, I really don’t like to say things in a different way as you but we have been betrayed here in SC and the pain won’t go away until he has been replaced.
I suppose that’s possibility but not much consolation to four dead American heroes.
Very frightening. And it’s a cancer that can’t be cut out. It’s literally eating the host..
Pelosi has never made sense. she’s a walking talking points and since she’s out of power, her talking points are stale. Wallace was kind of wasting his time talking to her.
That and I don’t really trust him after his performance last week with LaPierre.
At least she has some understanding of military life. Her husband retired as an 0-6 in the Navy Reserves and was the Veterans Administration Secretary.
Hagel is simply 'not all there.' I don't know if it is mental illness, alcohol, or what. But something is definitely not right with him. I feel sorry for him.
If it is Michèle Flournoy, everyone in the press and in the DoD is going to have to practice typing their little French accents over their "è" when spelling her first name, because I heard she will pitch a conniption fit about that.
What I wonder if is she will actually want to lead the DoD and defend it from the current budgetary assault it is under, or participate in the mauling herself and destroy it even faster.
If she is the new nominee, only time will tell.
I know one thing for sure, the Senate never wants to be seen "beating up" on a woman. It took Benghazi and 4 dead Americans before they even dared to question Hillary, and even then it was a love fest.
Flournoy would simply have to show up for the confirmation hearing and watch her feet being kissed.
I'm gonna steal a few paragraphs from this thing and show what it says. Here's the headline:
EXCLUSIVE: David Petraeus was brought down after betrayal by vengeful CIA agents and his own bodyguards who made sure his affair was exposed, claims new book
Brandon Webb, a former Navy SEAL, and Jack Murphy, a former Green Beret, reveal the new claims in their book 'Benghazi: The Definitive Report'
Petraeus was humiliated after a 'palace coup' by high-level intelligence officers who did not like the way he was running the CIA, authors say
The book also claims that Petraeus and Ambassador Chris Stevens were caught off guard by Benghazi consulate attack because they weren't briefed about on-going U.S. military operations in Libya
Webb and Murphy say Benghazi attack was a retaliation for secret raids authorized by Obama security adviser John Brennan
the link below.
Here's another one:
He(petraeus) was turning the agency's focus from intelligence gathering and analysis to paramilitary operations, including drone strikes.
Additionally, he ran the CIA like a four-star general, instead of treating it like a political institution, the authors say. His management style made countless powerful enemies within the CIA.
The gist of the piece is that Petraeus was betrayed by bodyguards who told of his affair with Paula Broadwell and made sure he got out.
Meanwhile John Brennan, his now assured replacement, was doing hits with drones and not letting Petraeus know about it.
Other rumors are that some of the hits by brennan pissed off the local Libyan terror types so much they made the hit on Benghazi as payback.Another interesting possibility. This thing ever ends.
She’ll help with the mauling.
See post #171. A rather long read, can’t wait to read the book.
Somethings never change in DC, corruption and more corruption. Even if this is the answer to Benghazi, getting it out to the masses will be next to impossibe. (They can’t read!!!)
Looks like they ignored the hell out of him.
One would think that with all he had going on he would get any request he made authorized in a heartbeat. Why were they questioning requests made by a State Dept. rockstar unless he had become a liability.
Let's face it Benghazi was not your typical State dept. sub station.
Wow are we on the same wave length or what!
I think we are all seeking the very same thing, the TRUTH.
May I recommend the movie “Gifted Hands”, the Ben Carson story starring Cuba Gooding Jr. Very uplifting.
Thanks, LG and rodguy. Just saw that LG had posted the link as well. THis is pretty explosive information, far beyond what happened to Petraeus. Assuming the info is correct, Brennan’s secret operations (without warning Stevens, State) are likely what resulted in his death. obama authorized Brennan to run these secret ops, erego, .......
And obama wants him to run CIA?
Makes you wonder who came up with the “blame the video” cover story.
We need to shift to asking, WHY HAVN’T WE ATTACKED THOSE WHO KILLED OUR AMBASSADOR YET? They are out in the open, all over Libya, flying the AQ flag.
odumbi needs to be accused of being a coward and not avenging the death of our Ambassador.
Girlene, that is the $64,000 question.
Pelosi is making very little sense on Fox.
She makes very little sense every time she opens her piehole.
No this was worse then her usual ramblings.
“Pelosi is making very little sense on Fox.”
“She makes very little sense every time she opens her piehole.”
No this was worse then her usual ramblings.
LOL I wish we had a delete button.
Maybe the onset of Alzheimer’s....or she just forgot the oxygen deep-breathing after a long night partying...
Candy Crowley asks the panel if anyone was offended by conservative doctor’s Prayer Breakfast speech.
She said she was unfamiliar with him.
He’s not only a renowned neurosurgeon but a Medal of Freedom recipient, I believe. Candy should get out more often.
I am offended by her.
