WE ARE ALL CALIFORNIANS NOW!

United States --(Ammoland.com)- Yesterday, California politicians held a press conference to introduce the most draconian gun control civilian disarmament bill seen to date in this country. Seeking to exploit the tragedy of Newtown to achieve a political end, lawmakers introduced a bill that is completely filled with unconstitutional and extreme measures aimed at nothing other than the disarmament of law abiding Americans.

The list includes placing extreme financial burdens on gun owners by requiring them to pay what are essentially “poll taxes” on firearms and ammunition purchases as well as requiring liability insurance, annual certifications, and licensing of gun ownership. Standard self defense and hunting ammunition are now classified as “assault bullets” and are felonious violations for everyone except law enforcement. Almost every currently manufactured semi-automatic firearm in existence – and countless bolt action hunting rifles – are now a prohibited device merely because they have the ability to accept detachable magazines. Certain firearms such as shotguns are being redefined to make them prohibited under the new law even if they dont meet the legal requirements to be prohibited. The list goes on and on.

With this despicable new law the ruling class politicians in California have drawn a line in the sand and have now shown everyone that they believe that the Bill of Rights is a privilege that they grant to their subjects. It is now painfully obvious that they believe that they grant us our rights, and that they can proportion them out as they see fit. That they can amend our rights whenever they get the whim and however they wish. If that does not scare you as an American then you have no pulse, because as goes the second amendment so goes every other freedom that this great country has to offer…

They’ve been AWOL for the last decade or 2 happy to swallow every foolish infringement of the 2A.

You were saying?...

CALIFORNIA'S ASSAULT WEAPONS LAW HAS BEEN LARGELY IGNORED:

...According to Bob Drake, chief of the state Bureau of Justice Information Services, only 5,150 of the estimated 200,000 to 300,000 assault weapons in the state have been registered since California became the first state in the nation to ban sales of the military style guns last January...

NON COMPLIANCE - Why haven’t Californians registered all their assault weapons?:

...Now we learn that out of California’s population of 35 million people, only 27,000 "assault weapons" have been registered, even though it is estimated that there are 500,000 to 1 million legally owned assault weapons in California...

Like when they confiscated the SKSes???

True. It was a Republican who, first gave his word he would not confiscate the SKSs, then when it came time for election he turned his back on his promise and demanded SKS owners turn in their weapons.

It wouldn't be the first time a supposedly conservative Republican lawmaker turned against their conservative constituents.

I seem to remember a good ol' boy from Tennessee who was holding hearings on Chinagate, (read: Sen. Fred Thompson (R-TN) "investigating" Bill Clinton's espionage) then rolled over and shut down the hearings when the heat was turned up.

Then, when it came time to vote for conviction during Clinton's impeachment trial, good ol' boy, Fred Thompson voted against the conviction.

I guess California has no monopoly on traitors in office, do they?

Registration Means Confiscation in California & Connecticut:

...During his run for Governor in 1997, Former (Republican) Attorney General Dan Lungren reversed his own earlier decision about the SKS Sporter. Bowing to political pressure, he declared them illegal, thus demonstrating that the trust of SKS owners was misplaced...

...The California DOJ has admitted they have records, they know who own these firearms through the registration process, and have ordered seizure and/or prosecution by law enforcement agencies throughout the State.

Well, youre going to get your chance to count. I hear the loonies that the electorate voted in are seriously considering confiscation. Will it end w/ a whimper from KA gun owners (most likely) or will you push back in a way the police and brown shirts remember?

Bravely spoken. What action have you taken to push back against government corruption?
