A majority of American voters want the Boy Scouts to lift its ban against gay members and leaders, a new Quinnipiac poll finds.
The Boy Scouts of America announced last week that it was considering changing its policy of banning gay scouts and troop leaders. On Wednesday the organization said that decision would be delayed until a national meeting in May.
In the Quinnipiac poll, 55 percent of respondents said the scouts should drop the ban, while 33 percent said it should remain.
There is a significant gender gap in the results. Women back gay scouts by a 61 to 27 percent margin; among men it’s a narrower 49 to 39 percent margin.
Catholics are also far more likely than Protestants to support the inclusion of gay scouts.

What the majority of voters want is of no consequence in this matter. The Boy Scouts are a private association and the Constitution guarantees Freedom of Association. In other words, Boy Scouts have a constitutional right to associate with whomever they choose.
The Boy Scouts are an organization of values and principles. Each scout promises to do his best to live his life a certain way. People who do not try to live in accordance with the Scout Law should not promise to try to do so. People who choose not to promise to try should not be scouts.
This isn’t about homosexual Boy Scouts. There are and always have been gay scouts. This is about impressing unwelcome values on a private organization. This is about pulling children into an adult political morass. That is shameful.
Let me say that again: the adults who are using children to advance a political agenda are shameful. The cowards who allow this are just as shameful.
The Boy Scouts is not sexual at all. BSA goes to great pains to make it that way. Adults are not allowed to be alone with scouts. Scouts are required to travel in pairs. Girls do not tent with boys. It’s not Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell — it’s Don’t Care. These kids learn about teamwork, self sufficiency, survival, and the great outdoors.
Leave these kids alone. Get some counseling. COEXIST.

5/08/2012 – A Gallup Poll revealed that 50% of Americans believed homosexual marriages should be recognized by law as valid, with the same rights as traditional marriages -- down slightly from 53% the previous year, but marking only the 2nd time in Gallup's history of tracking this question that at least half of Americans have supported legal homosexual marriage. Forty-eight percent said such marriages should not be legal.
How polls are done today. They have profits of the people they call. They can get any result they want and still fall within the science guidelines of polls. They can make them look good and be a phony as they want. Polls are not longer honest in America. If you follow them you are a fool.
You are right. They only needed to ask a couple of questions.
1) Are you a parent of a young boy?
2) Do you want your child exposed to a homosexual?
They perverted the word “gay”. Their plan is to distance themselves from any thing negative about homosexuality.
Sandusky is an aberration they say, even though homosexuals prey on children and this is not an isolated incident.
Homosexuals on TV are portrayed as normal people. The media don’t tell about all the depravity.
While we're at it, how about a poll about whether Americans agree with Communist doctrines. If Americans disagree, well, I guess Commies will just have to go along with the rest of us.
I don’t doubt the country’s morals have dropped that low. Any country that elects and reelects a soulless, baby-murder supporter like Obama is morally decrepit. Larger numbers than ever before are all-in for the homo agenda. it sure isn’t the America I once knew.

Just what I have been thinking! Take AT&T and Ernst & Young and their $$$ and form your own LGBT scouts! You can have them all and be happy!!

agree Gaffer but the scriptures clearly tell us where were headed, a pastor from our church mentioned a couple of years ago that the sign of the times would be a massive gay movement.....and it’s happening right before our very own eyes.
Shocking but true.
We had a horrible girl scout leader near us. Horrible with children, mean, had no skills to teach the girls anything. But she thought she was mother of the year. After about six months, another mother started a troop and all of the girls quit the first troop and joined the new one.
But this first woman was unavoidable! She “volunteered” at the girl scout offices and showed up to “help” run camp. My point is once you let a deviant, for lack of a better word, in, you can never get rid of them!
She might have had a claque of fellow-paraphilics urging her on at weekly meetings down at the local gay-NGO den.
Well, um, no ..... the way that works is, if we disagree with them, then Bill Ayers is going to ship us off to concentration camps and shoot us if we don't come around. He said so.

Oddly, the same people who want gay scouts cringe at the name Jerry Sandusky. I would bet, and I never bet money on anything, that the Scouts will indeed cave.
