Study: Work less, save the planet

Americans should work less, play more -- and in doing so, save the planet. That’s the basic formula a Washington think tank is shopping around as a way to cut down on global warming.

The shift from a U.S. work model to a more "European" one – which includes shorter work weeks and more vacation time -- could cut as much as half of the expected global temperature rise by 2100, according to a new report from the Center for Economic and Policy Research. The study claims that scaling back on work hours could bring down greenhouse gases.

“The calculation is simple: fewer work hours means less carbon emission, which means less global warming,” economist David Rosnick said.

"Work less" is code for "make less money so you don't spend it on stuff we disapprove of."

I work as little as I can get away with. Don’t know if it’s helping the planet any, but it does help me.

Or the lefties could just off themselves to reduce mankind’s footprint. It’d work out about the same for CO2 production, but the country would be much better off.

From the article, “The shift from a U.S. work model to a more “European” one – which includes shorter work weeks and more vacation time — could cut as much as half of the expected global temperature rise by 2100, according to a new report from the Center for Economic and Policy Research. The study claims that scaling back on work hours could bring down greenhouse gases.”

There has been no statistically significant “global warming” for the last 16 years. This has been admitted even by Phil Jones the head of the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia; one of the primary conspirators in the original “Climategate” scandle. None of the computer models based on the theory that CO2 has a significant effect on the world's climate have accurately predicted the current trend. How long are we going to have to put up with billions of government dollars being spent on windmills and subsidizing ethanol production in the name of reducing CO2?

1950s America had global warming solved: 50% of parents weren’t out trying to make a buck. Keeping up with the Joneses meant keeping the house clean, having dinner on the table, and raising happy well behaved kids.

One of those old South Carolina sayings that is never heard now was, “Work is made for a mule...and he turns his ASS to it.”
