Why does the civilian Department of Homeland Security need billions of rounds of ammunition?
This is the agency that is responsible for policing the border. But it doesn’t.
This is the agency that is responsible for catching terrorists. But it doesn’t.
So why does Homeland Security need so many weapons and enough hollow-point rounds to plug every American six times?
Maybe this is the “civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded” as the Defense Department.
These words – “civilian national security force” – have haunted me ever since I first read them.
Obama has never explained what he meant.
He’s never been called to account for that remark.

Started stockpiling early turn of century and have been refreshing the stockpile. Had just bought the 300 WIN Mag so was behind the curve on it.

I don’t know how many armed personnel that DHS has but there are 200K people that work for DHS. 20k in the Border Patrol and at least that many in the rest of CBP. They qualify quarterly and shoot an average of 100 rounds a quarter.
I’m beginning to think that they simply want to deplete the supply of guns and ammo for the general public...while they figure out and implement a longer-term policy of “ending our gun culture”.
You bet your boots he will not only try, he’s doing it now and no one in government has the cajones to stop him. Disgusting bunch of do nothing Republicans in Congress.

I think that’s not unlikely.
With prices/demand up from the civilian market, I wonder when a manufacturer/supplier says “to heck with this Federal contract, I’m selling the stuff where I make some MONEY! Those guys can wait.”

I have read about citizens seeing truckload shipments in transit, but have seen nothing that I felt was solid evidence.
No, we don’t want to overreact to this. But we know that nothing that this administration says is the truth. And I am convinced Obozo truly intends to destroy the US for his foreign masters. His every action gives him away.

I found that looking locally worked better for me. Found quite a bit of ammo in smaller local stores, prices weren’t that bad. Bought once fired brass from 2 nearby sources and ordered some of the larger brass from the only place that had it on hand. Feel like I am in pretty good position to assure that I will have ammo for the rifles I already owned.
Have also tried to look far out covering the event that ammo was seriously unavailable. Don’t shoot exotics, and for what I shoot I could cast bullets to hunt. And I do reload most of the calibers.
Am I being paranoid? I don’t think so. Just cautious.
And very upset with the Fed overeach.
Cabelas doesn’t even list 5.56 or 7.62x51 now. Nor the powder, brass, or bullets to reload those calibers.
At least, not here in the Rogers, MN store...
I was in a Cabela’s on saturday, and they actually had a bin of 30rd AR-15 mags (limit 2).
Also, they had 7.62X39 in plenty (steel case),
but no a single cartridge of .22LR.
To shoot Americans who don't go along with the One World Government.
