New Shale Formation in West Texas could Dwarf the Bakken
Oil Price ^ | January 30, 2013 | Charles Kennedy

The US shale boom has led some to predict that it will overtake Saudi Arabia as world’s largest oil and gas producer by 2020, thanks to the massive reserves found in plays such as the Bakken Shale of North Dakota, the Marcellus Shale in New York, and the Eagle Ford Shale in Texas; even the newly discovered Tuscaloosa Shale formation in Louisiana holds large potential.

However there is a new shale formation that has been discovered in West Texas which could dwarf all others being drilled in the US at the moment.

The play is known as the Cline Shale play and has been discovered in the Permian Basin.

John Breyer a geologist at Marathon Oil Corp.(NYES: MRO) said that this new discovery could dwarf anything that exists in North Dakota...

Thanks for the ping.

Perkalong wasn’t perky and didn’t have a positive thing to say about anybody or anything. Good riddance.

It’s never a good idea to mess with Texas or Texans.

Thanks for the Ping.

Interesting posting history on that one. Taken in isolation, many of their posts appear at first glance to be of a quite conservative bent. In fuller contex and with the aid of Zot-assisted hindsight however, it’s obvious their goal was divide-and-conquer.

That is typical troll behavior. They stay cloaked and slowly start the little digs and hinky opinions every once in a while, until they come out and show their true colors and get the zot.

It’s an infiltration technique, but it doesn’t work effectively unless the troll can attain a position of power on the site. A mere observer and commenter really can’t do much damage, and he gets outed and banned eventually.

His repeated use of the respectful term, “President Obama”, was a dead give away. Nobody here uses that

Good point, and nice catch.

Could have stayed cloaked longer if he called him “poopy head.”

Hey Wide, we will reach 47 trillion in sovereign debt at some point this week.

Wake up.

My statement was quite accurate.

Any attempt to market a significant portion of said shale oil would drop the price of crude to less than $5/barrel.

The is no potential for “water damage” with fracking. The only impediment to hydrocarbon development in the US are the politicians and others on the take from OPEC, count on it.

Also, the Canadian tar sands oil production is far more polluting that underground oil shale.

How so, I wonder?

Here’s the funny thing about global warming: If it actually existed, it would be a good thing. If the world was hotter, more water would would evaporate and become moisture, which in turn would become clouds that produce rain. Thus, places that are barren wastelands, like the Sahara desert in central Africa, would become fertile, feeding millions of people.

But none of that is happening, now is it ? Global warming is as fake as the rug on Joe Biteme’s stupid head. There is no such thing, just like there is no such thing as a government program that comes in under budget.

“His repeated use of the respectful term, ‘President Obama’, was a dead give away. Nobody here uses that”

You have a good point there. For the life of me, I can’t remember the last time I said those horrid words without adding the words “Jew hater”, “dog-eating”, “homosexual agenda pushing”, “gun grabber”, “Catholic persecuting”, or “Marxist inspired dictator”.

You got that right. All that A-rab money, and the greedy guts in DC just can’t resist.

Every DC senator and rep should be limited to one term, at the end of which, they go home and get a damn job. No more politics, and no lobbyist position, ever.
