Reagan's home could become a parking lot for Obama's library
Washington Times ^ | 1/30/2013 | William Kelly

CHICAGO, Illinois, January 25, 2013 - A new Cold War is brewing here in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood and it has nothing to do with the frigid temperature. The apartment building at 832 E. 57th Street was once the Chicago home of a boy who would become a President. No, it’s not Barack Obama of Hawaii. It was at the apartment’s first floor window that a young Ronald Reagan looked out upon the world. But some powerful Chicagoans are planning to demolish Reagan’s historic home. Is it politically motivated? Is Mayor Rahm Emanuel behind the move? Reagan as a child. It was a different world back in 1915. Reagan's family had moved here from Tampico, Illinois. His father had gotten a job at the famed Marshall Field’s – now only a memory. A coin-operated gas lamp was the only home’s only source of heat. But it didn’t stop a young “Dutch” Reagan from dreaming. Young Reagan would watch the horse-drawn fire engines galloping wildly down the streets to save the day and he decided that he, too, would become a firefighter. It was here, too, that he survived a bout with pneumonia – he had the fight in him even then. You can almost imagine him skipping down these streets, playing with his brother Neil, whose nickname was “Moon.”

The good news is, the city is now known as St.Petersburg, once again. Thanks!

I know the PERFECT place for the Obama Presidential Library.

It is on the Big Island of Hawaii, at a place called “South Point”. One has to go off the main highway and drive 13 miles on a badly paved one lane road to a desolate rocky point that is plagued by high winds. An rusting, abandoned wind farm blights the landscape, where a few cows attempt to coax a weed or two from between the fallen wind vanes.

Rusted wire fences line the road, warning people of the dangers and prohibiting entry.

This is the only road to the Olivine Green Sand Beach, so if you really want to see the unusual beach, the best way to view it is from the air.

I have heard that yet another “Green Energy” company has purchased the wind farm, but will probably abandon it as its predecessors have done.

A Wonderful Place to celebrate Barry’s Legacy!

Let’s be safer, lets go farther left to the Pacific Trench.

Obama isn’t worthy to shine Reagan’s shoes, much less turn anywhere he lived into a parking lot. Why isn’t his library being built in Kenya?

In my hometown, there was a street behind the university that was lined with 100 yr old oak trees and stately mansions. The AAs in the city petitioned to name that street MLK Blvd. None of them even lived near there but they just wanted to rub it in people’s faces.

It didn’t pass but I think it may almost have. For being only 13% of the population, they sure act like they own the joint.

Chicago has provided the pond scum that has spawned and kept alive the communist party in America since there were communist. I believe it was in the late 1800s that a policeman was killed in a Chicago communist riot.

I lived three blocks from there at 54th and Maryland. Anything west of Cottage Grove would be a problem for folks like me. The campus is starting to get too close for comfort.

Shouldn’t his library be built in Indonesia or Kenya?

Are you talking about the Haymarket affair in 1886? Anarchists threw a bomb at police.

I’m not sure if that’s the one or not, I thought it was later.

Typical muslim practice... building what amounts to a “victory mosque” over conquered territory.

Those bastards are pushing this intentionally. Pricks.

Jakarta would be a more logical place for the Obama library. Researchers who visited the library would be able to listen to the Muslim call to prayer, which Obama thinks is the most beautiful sound on earth (other than his own voice, one would assume).

BINGO

Everything hussein does is with the intent of “in your face” to conservative Americans. This is just another example.

Comparable to the muzzies wanting to put a giant mosque near ground zero. It’s a muzzie thing.
