OWS is exposed: Rich, white, educated and working

It seems those Occupy Wall Streeters were a lot closer to the 1 percent than they would like to admit.

A new study of the OWS movement in New York found that many of the protesters were highly educated and not nearly as down on their luck as they portrayed.

A third of protesters in the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York lived in households earning more than $100,000 and more than two- thirds were employed professionals, according to the study from CUNY’s Joseph A. Murphy Institute for Worker Education and Labor Studies.

The study also showed the movement was mostly organized by experienced political operatives and nearly all of those involved — 76 percent — were college educated.

My kids’ kindergarten teacher retired last year with a Gov’t $80,000 pension.

Given today’s zero interest-rate policy from our Federal Reserve, that makes the net present value of that pension worth how much? $5 million?

Instant millionaire!

These trust-fund babies are just following the pattern set by their clueless Marxist parents, who protested the war in Viet Nam and corporations in the ‘60s. They have no values other than feeling “relevant,” as they challenge The Man.

I hope their parents have enough money to sustain them when they try to get jobs in 4 years. And, I hope they weren't counting on that gigantic inheritance they were going to get because Uncle Obama will be pocketing a huge chunk among other things. After the taste of Marxism has touched their palates, I think they will be seeing things differently or at least I hope so.

...lived in households earning more than $100,000 and more than two- thirds were employed professionals... The local news interviewed some of the occupy Austin idjoits not long ago and most were ut students or recent ut grads. The news reported how many $ millions in extra cost for the Austin taxpayers it had cost in APD overtime and sanitation workers coming to clean the area. Most were also from rich households. Going to ut Austin is NOT cheap.

But which companies “employ” people who spend weeks on end sleeping in the park? And why would they?

Little wonder we’re slipping back into recession.

It really pains me to go to Austin these days, I remember it when it was a lovely city. So sad.

I rarely go into Austin since I retired at the end of 2011. We were on a 4 day / 10 hour day, but the PM commute was pure hell. The only time I go in now is for my annual visit to the cardiologist.

Because it’s what the experienced political operatives tell them.

yes, there is a vast difference between wealth and income.

Nobody knows or has any way of tracking the wealth of Americans though, so there’s no way to compare wealth.

Income is the only thing that is tracked, and income includes income from all sources not just a salary. The income numbers are also for a household and not an individual. But it’s still hard for me to grasp that a family making $240,000 a year is making more income than 97% of all Americans.

Not that most thinking people didn’t see it for what it was: a self-serving, self-important pack of rich, white, wannabe hippies (with some 60’s retreads and ACORN agitators thrown in for flavor), with no clear purpose or point.

Actually, at the time there were many articles on FR detailing how the OWSers started. It was started by leftists connected with Axelrod, for the purpose of creating disruptions and gaining mass numbers, and they hoped to provoke violence. They failed in all regards. It was directly connected with the freaking communist bastards in the WH.
