Morning Joe: 'Ignore' Rubio's Remarks To Rush—Just Taking Care of Base, Saving Face
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Marco Rubio's tough talk to Rush Limbaugh yesterday about no immigration deal being done unless certain language on border security, etc. is included? Ignore it. Just Rubio taking care of his conservative base—and saving face. In the end, Rubio will likely give Obama his vote on immigration reform. It's all about finding an out for Republicans when it comes to winning back a decent share of the Latino vote. And conservatives will be willing to take the deal.

Such was the collective wisdom of Morning Joe today, as enunciated by Jon Meacham and seconded by Joe Scarborough.

RE :" Morning Joe: 'Ignore' Rubio's Remarks To Rush—Just Taking Care of Base, Saving Face ,"

Big joke at MSNBC is how Rubio must play up us stupid conservatives by making believe he and Obama disagree, when they all (MSNBC) admit that they both have the same plan.

Rubios blowing the dog whistle :”’Woof, woof’”

Rubio :
I wont accept a deal without ...bla-bla-bla, so the President needs to bla-bla-bla

Stupid Republican :
““ That Darn Obama doesnt want to protect the borders. Thanks goodness we have Rubia to stand up to him

“After amnesty 30 million illegals will be able with their new citizenship to bring in 100 million of their relatives from their dirty socialist homelands. That will destroy America. Amnesty has to be stopped and this Rubio is wrong on this issue. he can jump in the lake. Additionally an Amnesty will attract another 100 million illegals cause they know many illegal jobs will open up because the new citizens don’t have to do the illegal jobs as they will take Americns’jobs as if there are any jobs at all . “

I second the motion! Nuff said!

Rush was giddy after that interview.

The trouble is, Rubio is either so naive that he doesn’t realize the others in the ‘gang’ are playing him like a fiddle, or he is in on the dipsy-doodle shellgame administrationS [plural, includes Dem and Pubbie] and Congress [includes Dem and Pubbie] have been playing for decades.

The problem with Rubio’s proposal is the same with every proposal/bill since the 1965 — border security enforcement is included, but enforcement is not made mandatory. Any ‘measure’ of determining border security is subjective and left up to — politicians.

Rubio basically said he ‘hoped Obama would enforce border security’ if this new bill is made law.

Ironically, Obama was in Las Vegas about the same time making an immigration speech, and he basically said current enforcement is adequate.

What is the point of new bills and regulation if they won't enforce the current laws and secure the border now?

Secondly, how would importing millions of less educated persons help our economy and nation?

The list is endless, and yet people still trust these politicians? Especially someone like Rubio, who comes from the Bush wing of the GOP. Hahahahahaha.

Our country is sol.

Don’t throw Rubio under the bus yet.

You're right. It's called VERIFY BEFORE YOU TRUST. Not the other way around.

Singling Rubio out this week is fair but the fact is a number of Tea Party-elected Repubs have already sold us down the river on one issue or another.

This whole idea of constitutional conservatives “taking control of the Republican Party” is a pipe dream. But don’t tell Rush or Levin, they just don’t want to hear it.

Don’t throw Rubio under the bus yet.

If these politicians worked as hard to represent their own constituents as they are working to aid 'foreigners', the entire Nation would be better off.

Why the continuous push to bring in millions of illegals? Most constituencies do not benefit from them; rather, those influxes cost massive amounts in supplemental benefits and aid.

RE :”You’d be better off ignoring Morning Jo(k)e.”

I disagree. Over at Dem channel Rubio is a hero and they are all laughing about how Rub is pushing the same plan as O (millions of new Dem party voters) by blowing this dog whistle to get the R party dummies to fall in line.

The R party channel FNC is not reporting on Rubio back-stabbing.

Rubio :
I wont accept a deal without ...bla-bla-bla, so the President needs to bla-bla-bla

Stupid Republican :
““ That Darn Obama doesnt want to protect the borders. Thanks goodness we have Rubia to stand up to him

Take out the gubment freebies and the vote from the deal and then see how many sign up to be 'legal'

Rubio has the best plan so far. Many idiots are still hung on no answers but just like to talk. Some have the idea to run a few hundred thousands of empty cattle car into all of America and load them up for a fast trip to Mexico. What stupidity. They are here and here to stay. So far Rubio has the only real plan that just might work. The same as@ holes that do not understand the complex problem will never figure it out but just complain. Perfect example, why in the hell does anyone think why we have King Obama!

Sen. Sessions was on Mark Levin's radio program yesterday. Sessions was livid about that. He said basically the same thing -- if they really wanted border security, they could accomplish that with existing laws. They don't enforce existing ones, so what is a new law going to accomplish?

Oh go take your meds, it’s not 30 million, it’s probably a third of that, maybe a tad more...and they don’t have 100 million lined up to join them either. Besides, I’m more worried about 60 million natural born citizens who HATE AMERICA AS FOUNDED than I am anything else. They are a much bigger threat.

This problem is not helped by distorting reality.

Good points. Something is going to get done, whether we like it or not. There will be NO deportation of current illegals. Zero. None. Zip.

As far as Plan B’s go, this one is about the best that can occur. The major flaw in it is painfully obvious.

It requires illegals to essentially turn themselves in. Who thinks this will really happen?

“The base has been played for suckers since 2004. Tell us something we don’t know, Morning Joe.”

Before 2004, Reagan was hood-winked by Tip O’Neil, thought he was making a deal between two old Irishmen and he (Reagan) thought his (O’Neil) word was good. Well, Reagan soon found out that Tip was lying and had no intention of keeping his word and he didn’t. The old proverb “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me” should be remembered as the Democrats will lie again and will not keep any promises made about border security. So, I say, secure our border first and then we can talk about the other stuff. End of subject.....

I wish I could hope Rubio had something clever up his sleeve to thwart Obama's plan to globalize the American people, but according to past statements he's made about the GOP base I'm afraid I don't believe it.

Rubio's another GOPe type who believes his career will benefit from an Amnesty deal and he's striking while the iron is hot.
