Lt. J. Paul Vance, the face of an ongoing Connecticut State Police investigation into worst grade-school shooting in U.S. history, Thursday debunked media and Internet reports that Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza killed his victims with handguns and not the Bushmaster XM-15 E2S rifle that is now the focus of a proposed federal assault-weapons ban.
All 26 of Lanza's victims were shot with the .223-caliber semi-automatic rifle, said Vance, who bristled at claims to the contrary during an interview with Hearst Connecticut Newspapers.
"It's all these conspiracy theorists that are trying to mucky up the waters," said Vance, the longtime state police spokesman. Multiple Second Amendment and gun owner websites have attempted to cast doubts on whether the Bushmaster XM-15, a type of AR-15 rifle that is currently legal, was used in the Dec. 14 carnage done by Lanza.
Some have cited a Dec. 15 "Today" show video clip from the day after the shooting, in which NBC News Justice Department correspondent Pete Williams said that four handguns were recovered inside Sandy Hook Elementary School and that the Bushmaster rifle was found in the trunk of a car owned by Lanza's slain mother, Nancy Lanza.
"There's no doubt that the rifle was used solely to kill 26 people in that school," Vance said.
Twenty children ages 7 and under and six female educators were killed when Lanza forced his way into Sandy Hook Elementary School and sprayed the occupants with bullets before turning a gun on himself.
Vance said he made it abundantly clear during his media briefings since the tragedy that Lanza carried out the shooting with the Bushmaster.
"I personally articulated that probably a dozen times in Newtown," Vance said.

No. I’ve fired bolt-action rifles for which one had to work the bolt to chamber a round.
They’ll wait til they get rid of the bullets and manufacturers are out of business and they won’t have as much trouble confiscating..for healthcare reasons, of course. It’s a done deal.
He could just about empty one 10-round mag and then pop in another in seconds while having the other handgun ready in case someone tried to jump him. When the tactical claims are bogus, you know there is another agenda here.
Not sure of the exact day but I heard Vance state on TV before of after the ME that all were shot with the AR type weapon.The ME confirmed,dont know where the confusion come s from?
I might add: If it wasn’t a done deal (0bama’s entire agenda) he would have been gone by now. He’s a tool, but an effective one.
And what was the toxicology report on him and his mom?

This all has to be taken into context.
And you have to rack pump shotguns as well.
Yeah. They admit that he swapped mags frequently, so mag size was irrelevant.
“Investigators are aware that frequent reloading is common in violent video games because an experienced player knows never to enter a new building or room without a full magazine so as not to risk running out of bullets. This has led them to speculate privately that this might be a reason that he replaced magazines frequently.”
There was one NBC report right after the event (which originated with the local affiliate) that the Bushmaster was in the trunk and he used handguns for the shootings. This was retracted. That report was repeated a bit by other sources.
Then that NBC report was ressurected by a collection of conspiracy morons last week and posted all over the internet, with an even larger number of even stupider people not noticing that the NBC report was from mid-December and spreading it further.
That's how we got to where we are today.

Nor are they a factor for anyone shot by the first 10 rounds out of the AW.
Ok, wait. I have read several articles, sourced from the coroner that say no rifles were used.
Oh, NOW it gets confirmed.
The only reason they want assault weapons gone is that you can pick off a 15 rioters from 100 yards away in less than a minute with good training.

While I believe you’re right, there has been too much secrecy of autopsy reports and misinformation that was never set right by the media. Lack of clarity has no rhyme or reason, but has been very helpful to domestic enemies, who have been singularly advantaged by the break down of both the truth and un-timeliness in the reporting.
The media is purposely and personally shaping stories that serve the enemies of the Constitution.
The authorities should have known and observed that the rumor mill was being fed false information and should have made the facts and clarifications known by releasing both investigative and medical reports.
