American Idol is at the centre of a racism row after nine black former contestants claimed that they were all forced off the show as part of a racist plan to boost ratings.
The singers, from various seasons, are preparing to take legal action against the hit talent show which they say "permanently and severely impaired" their personal and professional lives.

Actually, reading the article, it seems like they all had some measure of talent, but were dismissed between auditions and final selection because of their criminal records.

Somehow I think people who rely on AutoTune, shouldn’t be judging other singers....but hey, that’s just me.
Last season they had a young black contestant named Joshua who they pushed and pushed...told him he was the best singer of the past 50 years, gave him a standing ovation every time he sang, and he came in third. So far this season, they’re still in the audition phase, but the judges are already fawning over the black contestants, giving them standing ovations, practically declaring them the winners already. American Idol really, really, REALLY wants a black contestant to win, but those pesky ol’ viewers have a nasty habit of voting for whoever they want, not who the judges tell them to vote for! If not enough blacks are winning, they need to blame it on the voters, not American Idol.
Let me guess . . . . . . these are all Obama supporters who believe that EVERYONE should win American Idol.
Except the white contestants.

Everyone should know by now that the only way a black can win the Grand Prize is if the other blacks that would give him competition get eliminated early. This is because the Black vote out there is so overwhelmingly Racist, it would get split and the non-Black contestant would benefit.

Ruben Studdard is a black man from Alabama, and he won. He was over weight and sweaty. The thing was, he could sing.
So they will deliberately let untalented people win. How is this different from the way people are hired for the IRS and the Post Office?

They have a point. The whole entertainment industry is racist. A black person can’t catch a break. It’s almost as segregated as professional sports, and you know how bad that is. The American public simply won’t support black entertainers, athletes, etc.

To be fair, when I watched the show, none of them was that extraordinarily talented, black or white. Certainly Clay Aiken was not more talented than Ruben Stoddard. Talent really doesn’t have anything to do with American Idol, since it’s a glorified popularity contest.
Anyway, if anyone is racist, wouldn’t it have to be the viewers, since they are the ones that voted them off?

When I first laid eyes on this Nicki Manaj a couple of weeks back, I thought it was Jessica Rabbit with some work done.

and Idol did this - “made them audtion” - on purpose, just so that - knowing BEFOREHAND they had a criminal record [not likely, probably not even looked into until they had a chance for the 1st “live” show - top 24], they could kick them off the show by disqualifying them on the grounds of their criminal record?????
well, had I not seen so many Idol auditions by people who obviously had a few loose screws, I would not think anyone could make these ridiculous claims.
the number of contestants each year that are sacked in the initial auditions, and who are then so outraged that that happened to them, always amazes me.
then again, the media and the politicized scientific community and the many Marxist economists have taught everyone that correlation (those filing the suit are all black) equals causation (racism). It is ignorance, but it IS what people have been taught to believe, in so many fields.
It is amazing, you must admit, that such an offbeat sect that names their children after their own obscure saints (like for example, Chantelif and Shaquana), dresses in colorful folkloristic costumes (for example, orange three piece suits, trousers with crotches down near the knees), a sect like the Amish, can sing so well, play excellent football, even better basketball, decorate their Cadillacs so creatively, and speak a language that no one can (and few want to) understand.
Tell them you have a better chance if you are gay as well.
My wife loves this pathetic piece of crap show. I’m forced to use my MP3 player to avoid listening to the awful singing from virtually all the people of all ethnic sources. It is truly a vile show.
