Posted on 01/18/2013 10:25:41 AM PST by servo1969
The Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show, also known as the Harrisburg Gun Show, has announced it will limit the type of firearms that it will allow to be exhibited. We have made the decision not to include certain products that in the current climate may attract negative attention, they posted on their website.
The hunting and fishing show, the largest consumer event in the nation, offers 1,200 exhibitors and will run from February 2 10, 2013, just outside of Harrisburg, PA.
A representative to the show told the Daily Caller that no specific information was available on the type of restricted product at this time and she offered to have someone call back with the information.
The National Rifle Association, in a statement through their Institute for Legislative Action, stated they strongly disagrees with Reed Exhibitions decision to ban Modern Sporting Rifles. The statement went on to urge you to follow the NRA and the outdoor industrys lead by voicing your displeasure with Reed Exhibitions both before and during the show and encourage them to reconsider their position.
The NRA is reconsidering their support of the show, The NRAs future participation in the Eastern Sports & Outdoor Show will be determined by Reed Exhibitions actions in response to the concerns raised by the NRA, the outdoor industry, and Americas law-abiding gun owners.
Facebook fans of the show are outraged. One fan writes, If you stand for and support the second amendment, then you would not allow your judgment to be clouded by the people who mean to do harm to the very foundation of this country. I and, my family, will not be attending. Fans have set up a page calling for a boycott of the show and have gotten support from 1,348 people since Tuesday.

Let them sell lattes to the metrosexual faeries.
Boycot them for caving to enemies of the Constitution.
Send them a get bent card telling them, “Enjoy your friends in Washington and their wonderful new oppressive laws.”
I used to go to that show with my folks every year but haven’t for some time.
I was just thinking about it last week and was considering going.
Hubby’s never been to it and I thought he’d really enjoy it.
So much for that idea.
Boycott, in spades. Get the word out is right.
Given the current demand they couldn’t find more than a couple of AR’s at the show anyway.
If you are Facebook inclined:
So to hell with your rights but give us your money?
Thank you for that... now I have to clean soda from my computer monitor. :-)

The show pulled down all of their direct contact information from the website once NRA sent out their statement. However, I still had it pulled up, and Google has it cached.
It is all pasted below in the order it was published online, but the most relevant is probably: Event Director Chris O’Hara, phone - 717-368-7487, fax - 203-840-9868, email - firstname.lastname@example.org
The second more relevant is probably: Public Relations Deb Davis, phone - 717-834-6267, fax - 717-834-6207, email - email@example.com
No need to credit or even mention me, but I thought you might find the information useful since it was public as of earlier today.

Boycott the show. Let them sell their products to metrosexuals and fags who want to outlaw guns! See how far that gets them.
I knew these limp-wristed faggots were going to fold.
Every time I went there, their larger displays of firearms were at the very back so no one could see them. Asked one rep why 3 years ago, he actually said “so kids will not see them”. which was idiotic.
Looks like they’re toast already. Not good to oppose freedom.
Time to set up a sporting show that competes in the same county, at the same time.
> now I have to clean soda from my computer monitor. :-)
Better your monitor than your keyboard.
And at least it’s not a double-cream, cinnamon-topped mocha latte.
Just think of all the twinkle-toes this Show will attract now.
I looooove capitalism! These folks have a gun show business. They decide to limit what kind of legal firearms exhibitors can show and sell.
What happens next is up to the market. I hope the market turns away from the owners of the gun show. Porblem solved.
I guess they think they can pay the bills with Beef Jerky and Jewelry sales. All gun buyers/sellers/dealers should boycott.
This’ll go over like a fart in Church. Heh.
Nice Zumbo moment they are having there. I hope they lose their shirts. Although I am within driving distance I wasn’t planning to attend, but I had considered it. Next year I won’t even bother doing that.
This is about as smart as KFC changing its menu to satisfy vegans.
I live in Pennsylvania (55 years old) and have NEVER heard it called the Harrisburg Gun Show. It is referred to as the Sportsman’s Show.
‘just outside of Harrisburg, PA.’
This event will take place at the, ‘Farm Show’ which is a large exhibition type structure which is definitely within the city limits of Harrisburg, Pa.
