It is unfortunate but telling that all Western governments have repeated some version of the mantra, “Our principal concern is the safety of the hostages”.

As long as that is true (and it IS true), we will continue to lose.

If we don’t make our principal concern the death of the terrorists, and damn the costs, they will continue to proliferate.

They don’t take hostages because they are planning to die.
