A tourist from Massachusetts was recovering at a New York City hospital after being brutally beaten by a gang of seven young men armed with a tire iron and a baseball bat, police today revealed.
Kevin McCarron, 24, from Andover, was battered and stomped unconscious by the men after an argument in the trendy Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan early Sunday.
An onlooker captured horrific cell phone video of the attack, showing several young men kicking the victim on the ground.

My memory of Andover is that it is a well-to-do community. On Wikipedia, “According to a 2008 estimate,[15] the median income for a household in the town was $114,319, and the median income for a family was $138,556.”

Probably not in The Village; the deviants there wouldn’t allow seven blacks in their neighborhood together. It is a toilet, but a white/Asian toilet more than a black one.

I left for PA 25yrs ago, after working (lived in NJ) in Midtown for 17yrs; no way in hell I’d ever go back, either.
Behind enemy lines, we know to stay out of the urban welfare reservations. I’m barely 10 miles from NYC, and haven’t been there in over 10 years. An increasing trend (a problem, from the eyes of NYC’s tourism industry) is that an increasing number of young people in northern NJ have never been to NYC (and don’t intend to visit). Part of that is caused by the fact that the area nearest the city has become a Hispanic colony (and whites have fled west); another side is that nobody here believes it when you tell them New York City (or Newark NJ) is safe. Their crimes are reported on our local news; we know better.
I love stories like this; reading between the lines I’m guessing the tourist is a liberal (at least he was; now he’s been mugged, so that makes him a conservative).

Now, you might think I am speaking like someone who blames the rape victim because she had dressed like a hooker.
I’m not really.
And the guy did not deserve what happened to him, and his assailants deserve the book thrown at them.
That said,
I lived in Manhattan in my 20s; we did the late-night Saturday night scene, on occasions. We also knew the things - getting drunk, certain locations, certain kinds of people and certain kinds of situations - to avoid. It was not very long before we recommended to our younger friends and family members that getting together socially with a gang of friends in your own apartments was as rewarding and a whole lot less risky than mingling with the drunkin hordes out for a big night in town. And usually if someone did get drunk at our place, a cab was called to come pick them up, or they had to stay at the hosts apartment until they slept it off; we never sent a friend drunk out into the streets.
I know the location of the event in the article. It’s on 14th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenue - Artichoke Pizza. A niece lives not too far from there.
That pizza place has done a great job at marketing itself, but I’ve had their pizza and I’m no fan.
About two blocks north of there on 1st Avenue is Beth Israel hospital. I hope that young man was taken there and not transported some distance to another hospital.
In places like Texas, violent criminals get shot by onlookers.

I haven’t been to the city in years, but blacks were only allowed there as individuals to sell drugs (to the NYU students); they didn’t have the right to assemble in that part of the city.
The last names indicate they may well be Asians; no shortage of them there.

Ny Daily News reports the location as Macdougal Street, West Village not East. There is another Artichoke location there.
Gonna be a lot of flat tires around NYC ;) Not sure how the Yankee’s will be able to play home games.. (hey wait.. maybe we should look in to this!)

Things have only gotten worse since the famous Kitty Genovese slaying 5 decades ago (when NYers listened to a woman screaming for help and did nothing); now if they intervened and the perps were the wrong color or a protected class the Good Samaritan could be prosecuted (I’m not kidding).

A crime is a crime, and the victim didn’t deserve it, but it never ceases to shock me how naive people can be. These young people who’ve had it drilled into their heads that their parents were wrong on everything are rapidly finding out how right their parents often were.
In my younger days, if we went to the village, there were at least eight of us (all male); we treated the place with the caution it merited. Many of us had parents who’d fled NYC 10 -15 years before, and we knew why.

got my wife out of there years ago and she said it was the best thing she ever did, though any gun owner ,who voted Dem can stay up there as we don;t want them and their dumb voting ways
