Damn! Just how effing close to the edge are people living when 2% of their check is a tipping point?
They forget that this 2% was an Obama/Congress giveback (for which they had no ACTUARIAL basis on doing) of INSURANCE, I repeat, INSURANCE contrutions to Social Security, mandated under the FEDERAL INSURANCE CONTRIBUTIONS ACT (FICA) for OLD AGE, SURVIVOR, and DISABILITY INSURANCE (OASDI).
I know why he did it and he KNEW they holler, big time. Look for a replacement payoff, because you can’t cut his voters any slack or ‘temporarily give’ them ANYTHING...once given, always assumed. I have no pity for someone living within 2% of poverty.
I don’t know what the Leftists’ problem is.
The 2% cut in the payroll tax was supposed to stimulate the economy. According to the Left and the media (sorry for the redundancy), happy days are now here again. We’ve had multiple “recovery summers”, housing is “way up” and unemployment “way down”.
So we don’t need the cut anymore - wouldn’t want to overstimulate the economy during these boom times, right?
During the FDR reign of terror he continued blame Hoover for the depression as it got worse and extended. The ignorant voting public bought it back then, just as they do now.
I never heard ONE Republican tell the “Dem brain trust” that the reason their paychecks looked better last year is because the FICA tax wasn’t being withheld (it was a “tax cut” you see). Now, everyone is griping about the FICA bite while Soc. Sec. is even further in the hole.

Course my home insurance went up $50 a month and my groceries are all higher. I would eat cat food, but it's already more expensive than the food I eat. When Snowflake hit's 10 lbs, we may try real "cat" food. Why else would you feed a useless eater?

There are a lot of people these days living that close to the edge; where $100-$200 a month will mean cutting back on essentials like basic food. The obama destruction of the economy is on the way to making many people/families destitute.

I told a couple of my staff members who I know were Obama voters - when they started whining about it today that it’s the new “idiot” tax, and the Obamcare penalties will be starting soon too...and walked away.
It’s starting to look like a lot of “the rich” won’t be seeing a tax increase resulting from Barry’s “fiscal cliff” fiasco. Mainly “the rich” DemocRATS. The commie ‘RATS stick it to “the little people” again. Hooray for Hollywood! They done good in this “deal”.

People are living very, very close to the edge. We are, but that’s mostly our making for now. Those on the edge are not just Obama voters getting hit, these are MANY conservatives who just want to make a go on their own that are taking it. These are tithers, workers, stay-at-home moms, and a way of life that will disappear.
Anyone hear the woman on Rush Limbaugh and how her family is already struggling and this will just make it that much harder, or impossible? I know people making around $32,000 that will be paying $900 more in taxes this year. That’s a mortgage payment, a tank of propane, lots of gasoline or nine weeks of groceries with nothing to pay them with. Thanks a heck of a lot, politicians, may our realities be yours.
No one has even ventured to guess what sort of deductions they will take away on next year’s taxes.
I truly feel sorry for those that know that Obama is a sham and are getting screwed, but they are going to have to tighten some belts and survive somehow.
For the Obama voters, they can starve for all I care - but they won’t because the Obama entitlement machine is there for them.

Do you have a copy of TurboTax from last year? If so, plug in an AGI of $32,000 with at least a couple of dependents and see what you come up with for EITC.....I’ll bet the Federal Tax is nil. In fact, you’ll likely get several hundred dollars back or even in the +$1000 range. They still have the state income tax to deal with and the SS INSURANCE assessments and Medicare insurance payments.
What I’m talking about is the rise BACK to 6.2% of paycheck for FICA OASDI, for your cited family, that amounts to $640 a year. Or about $54 a month, the same amount they’d have been paying a couple of years ago before Obama and Congress bribed them to vote for him.
The Dems are preparing a proposal to exempt the first $25K of income from ALL payroll taxes.
At the same time they will propose lifting the cap on FICA far above to current $113K (perhaps to every cent of income).
This will have the effect of shifting the SS and Medicare burden heavily towards the Eeeeeeevil Rich, since the typical Obama voter will no longer pay ANY tax, and the burden on middle income people will be greatly reduced.
This is all part of a grand set-up.

Things are going to get a lot worse. There just isn’t enough $$$ out there to cover the current, let alone projected, debt/deficits. This 50% increase in the payroll tax (from 4 to 6%) is just the start.
On the bright side, obesity should become somewhat less of a problem.....
But on balance, there will be just that many more folks applying for food stamps, as the “working poor”.
Oh, wait, those are the folks who are making “too much money” to qualify.

Most everybody thinks “the rich” is somebody else. Truth is, its almost always not.
If you have a car or two; air condiditioning; a warm place to sleep; a modest house with food in the pantry; or, God forbid, a job ... you’re “the rich”. You’re demonizing yourself. Almost nobody in this country is “the poor”.
Everytime some know-nothing liberal Christian or pandering atheist quotes the “its easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get into Heaven” Bible verse ... it never seems to dawn on them that they’re the “rich man”, at least by Biblical standards.
