We're now one step closer to America's coming civil war

The New Year has started with a monstrosity of a budget deal, one that proves that neither political party, Democrats or Republicans, is really serious about controlling the growth of big government.

But soap opera dramatics about fiscal "cliffs" and sequestration shouldn’t deflect from where President Obama is really taking this country. Consider this story from the Wall Street Journal a few days before Christmas:

“Thousands of people in several Argentine cities ransacked supermarkets for a second day in the latest challenge to President Chistina Kirchner, who is struggling to revive a weak economy...In the central city Rosario, two people were killed during the incidents and 137 people arrested.

“The violence puts Mrs. Kirchner in a difficult position as the poor are [her] core constituents...Her government spends billions of dollars a year to help low income families, including free health care...[Yet] Argentine activists who claim to represent the poor traditionally block access to supermarkets in the month of December to demand free food and other items...The latest events were some of the worst acts of looting and vandalism in years.... Local media showed dozens of men, women, and children hauling away televisions, refrigerators, and food.”

Some have said my warnings about a coming civil war between makers and takers are exaggerated. It’s true that Argentina’s politicians have been waging class warfare since Juan and Eva Peron–and they aren’t fazed when it turns bloody. Obama and the Democrats are relative newcomers to the game. But Argentina reveals who really suffers when those who create a nation’s wealth get mugged by those who spend it–as just happened this week in Washington.

Did you really mean to say that? Congress is very repsonsive to the electorate. That is the problem. The electorate is composed of a majority who believe they are owed free s**t from cellphones to Social Security. Congress is giving them what they want.

All the civil wars I can think of were started by the equivalent of progressives, not conservatives. Take the US Civil war; Democrats. Take the Spanish Civil War, Franco, Fascist. Conservatives to not start civil wars. Nor is there anybody who would finance it as Conservative causes don’t attract money so much as Fascist causes do. We will get incrementally stepped on until, 30 years from now, Conservatism will be illegal.

Most Americans are too fat to jog once around the block, much less fight a civil war.

“-— and today’s version of unemployment compensation should not be able to vote.”

So my daughter,an MBA who had worked for over 25 years and was laid off and collected unemployment for about a year shouldn’t have been able to vote?

Ridiculous !

She is now working but the entire experience was very difficult for her.

I call it “No representation without taxation”. That applies to those who dont pay.

Those who are recieving their sustenance from the government should be barred from voting while they are on the take. I need a nice phrase for that one...

Do not give up your guns! NEVER!

The American citizenry is the best armed infantry in the world.

Once the guns get handed in, we are sitting ducks.

Expect no less than what the Jews got in the holocaust.

"...Some have said my warnings about a coming civil war between makers and takers are exaggerated..."

Has anyone received their first paycheck for 2013 yet? I just did and the ‘takers’ just got a whole lot more of my money. WT!!! Looks like they're winning the war. Obama's going to starve out the Middle Class. I don't have it in my budget to take care of my family and Obama’s giveaways and deficits.

As kindly as I can say this... Some years ago, my husband lost his job due to the company going bankrupt. He was unemployed for a long time .. trying to find work anywhere. He would NOT file for unemployment, even though he could have. In those years, to some, there was a stigma to government ‘gifts’. He would not stand in that line for that handout (and yes, it was considered that back then). Did it gain us anything? Not much.. it just was a standard of principle for this one man.

“The Guns that are being bought and the mere fact that we are discussing this bodes ill for the future. “

Or well. Depending on the outcome.

I wrote “Surviving Civil War II: Preparing For Economic, Political and Social Collapse”.
We are already in a civil war, it is just being fought differently (new territory is the Internet). It is still over slavery, the debt slavery of future generations to the decaying welfare state. It is being fought with proxy armies of union brownshirts, OWS anarchists, illegals, EPA regulators. It is as inevitable as is the economic collapse.

I understand that.

When I got out of the Navy it was 39 weeks. I got a job pronto.

One of the reasons she had trouble is because of the damage the "tax and spend" Democrats have done to the economy. Yes, I feel extended benefit receivers should be denied the vote while getting benefits since they're most likely to be getting them during an election cycle.

Sounds like your husband spent years paying into the unemployment fund for nothing in return.

Much better to try and get at least some of that money back than to be happy with that kind of lose-lose situation in the name of principle.

Here we are after 236 years - A hard core racist/socialist illegal alien in the White House, a certified buffoon as Vice President, 535 arrogant do-nothing clowns in the senate and half the Supreme Court think they are gods.

How far we have fallen!

Even an old fashion military coup is starting to look like a better alternative than what we now have.

Careful what you wish for. Military dictatorship will not be any better for any one.

If the military did march on Washington and clean house so we could reset the gov’t, it would not work. We would have elections and the same morons would get to the same place.

The only thing we can hope for is that the states get hit so hard by the Feds that they call a constitutional convention or ratify ammendments.

Otherwise, we are all screwed eventually.
