Political commentator Sean Hannity was one of the big losers in the 2012 election
New York Daily News ^

The right-wing Fox News host lost half his audience in the weeks after Obama's win

In a fitting coda to 2012, we’ve learned that the ratings for rock-ribbed conservative Sean Hannity cratered after Barack Obama won his second term, with viewers tuning out the Fox News Channel talk-show host in droves. According to Nielsen numbers, Hannity lost around half of his audience in the weeks after the election, while his Fox News colleague Bill O’Reilly — who steadfastly refuses to identify himself politically as a conservative — retained around 70% of his audience. So what happened to Hannity? The going wisdom is that viewers who basked in his preelection anti-Obama rhetoric tuned him out when they were stunned to wake up on Nov. 7 and discover that the President had won a second term — a scenario that Hannity had all but promised could never happen.

Yes, I would have stopped watching after election day if I had not already been without electricity since October 29th. I have watched OReilly more often last few weeks than Hannity. But I do listen to Hannity on radio.

I stopped watching Hannity years ago(not that I ever watched or listened to him much to begin with). For me, Michael Savage and Dennis Prager are so much more interesting to listen to. They seem to be more intelligent and have a better grasp of what’s going on.

I never liked Hannity. Seemed Whiney and repetitive and never really stood up to liberal guests

Sean has little respect for his guests. Too much “gotcha” radio and TV.

“Adding insult to injury, two of Hannity’s rivals on MSNBC, Ed Schultz and Rachel Maddow, held onto huge chunks of their audiences”

That’s impressive. Schultz and Maddow held on to all 8 of their viewers.

The article says that Mark Levin predicted a Romney landslide. No, Daily News, he did not. I do think that Hannity was hurt by having “the Architect” and Dick Morris on so often.

Rush and Levin are the only ones I listen to. Hannity has become tedious.

MSM doing a victory lap in early December after the welfare dependent low information dumb ass voters reelected the mulatto Marxist.

To be expected immediately AFTER the fact.

Things have gone back to normal now and Sean is, as usual, destroying the lying Leftist competition—a fact left out, naturally, by the lying Leftist liars still lying about Sean Hannity here.

Like maybe his new support for amnesty and the trio of clueless celebrity panelists he has every night also had something to do with it.

Sean "I can only repeat my talking points" Hannity is a pussy for quitting FR and bashing us. But I do listen to his lame radio broadcast often enough to say he never said or indicated anything of the kind. He actually went out of his way to say he had no idea who would win.

Just another lying hit piece from the MSM.

What do you call it when someone feels the need to publicly drone on and on about their guy winning? Oh, yeah, childish.

Hannity kept that idiot Dick Morris on all the time. Remember him predicting Romney would win in a landslide; wouldn't even be close. I think conservatives felt like they'd been lied to and turned Sean off just to take a break. I find myself getting tired of his endless self promotion and end up taking a break from him every so often.

Funny thing is I always come back, at least to the radio show. BillO the clown OTOH, I can't even watch anymore.

Hannity is a loser regardless. Stopped listening to his radio show a long time ago. He’s constantly whining.

“I never liked Hannity. Seemed Whiney and repetitive and never really stood up to liberal guests”

If Hannitys’ radio show was on before Rush, all he could talk about was what Rush said the day before. Hannity hurts the conservative cause though by not having a firm grasp of the facts. I never understood his or BOR popularity

He was a RINOmeny supporter.

I no longer have any use for Hannity.

I liked Mitt, but he had no chance, and those of us with a brain knew it.
