According to director/producer Noam Shalev and researcher Pablo Weschler, Adolf Hitler lived out his last days in an luxurious Argentinian hotel, instead of committing suicide in a Berlin bunker as previously thought. Their new documentary, Hitler in Argentina, attempts to make their case and is set to be released next year.
Shalev doesn’t claim to be 100 percent certain about his theory. “We will never know the truth,” he says. “But there is enough evidence to build an alternative theory about what happened to Hitler.”
Weschler adds, “No one believed the Russians’ story of Hitler’s suicide in the bunker. As early as the summer of 1945, there were headlines asking, ‘Where is Hitler?’ all over the world.”
Recently declassified FBI documents were the push to Shalev and Weschler to begin their film. They long believed that British intelligence officer and historian Hugh Trevor-Roper’s investigation into Hitler’s death was “unprofessional,” because Russian troops did not allow access to many forensic investigators.
“In those days, the FBI, not the CIA, was responsible for South America,” says Weschler. “And in declassified documents, we see that the FBI took very seriously the possibility that Hitler fled to Argentina.”
In fact, the FBI was so convinced of this possibility that they set up a special unit to investigate. Shalev and Weschler believe they can determine Hitler’s exact whereabouts after WWII. Italian journalist Patrick Burnside wrote a book entitled Hitler’s Escape about the dictator’s journey, and the pair used it as a guide.
“The Eden Hotel in La Falda, Cordoba [in Argentina] was owned by Ida and Walter Eichhorn, who were close friends of Hitler,” Weschler explains. “Hitler sent them a Mercedes Benz as a gift. It was the first Benz in Argentina.”
According to an FBI letter from September 1945, it was believed the Eichhorns would provide Hitler shelter if he ever needed it. Weschler also claims to have found former hotel employees who say they met Hitler and waited on him after the war.
The most important evidence to Shalev and Weschler comes in the form of DNA testing done on Hitler’s skill fragments in 2009, fragments that were recovered from the Berlin bunker.
“They showed that they couldn’t have been Hitler’s skull because they were from a woman under 40,” Weschler says. “The more you look into it, the less credible the official version becomes, and the more plausible an alternative theory seems.”
The best evidence for Hilter surviving the war is the Hellboy movie.
Did you not realize the bit of fun when you see it. Did you not realize ... that this yokel’s attempt is perpetrated every day. As was said possibly another get rich quick scheme or a new way to re-write history. Which seems to be the rage. Guess he has lots of time to sit around and think up these ideas.

But the Nazi/Argentina rumor has been around since months after the bunker was discovered.
Everybody knows that old Adolf, using the nom de guerre Hilter, lived for many years in a small boarding house in Minehead, Somerset, along with Ron Vibbentrop and Heinrich Bimmler.
I saw it on the telly. So there.
Russians' story? I've seen documentaries with purported "first-hand accounts" from Germans who claim they were in the Bunker with Hitler and poured gasoline on their bodies and ignited them after he and Eva Braun killed themselves.
During Operation Desert Storm, the Weekly World News ran a story stating that Hitler traveled to Iraq to advise Saddam Hussein on military strategy. (Hey....they couldn’t print it if it wasn’t true!)

This is not new. Back in the late 1960s this same claim was going around. MAD magazine did a spoof of a movie in which a waiter looked just like Adolph. I think the movie they spoofed was BUTCH CASSIDY AND THE SUNDANCE KID.
I’m sure it was MAD, but it could have been another mag doing the spoof.

The Indianapolis trolly system was sold to Buenos Aires Argentina ~ newspapers made regular reports on various rail cars ~ the Argentinians ran them with the old advertising still on them. Worse, the OSS not only brought a bunch of SS people to near Buffalo NY for extensive intelligence debriefing (particularly Latvians) they also brought a bunch of them to Indianapolis to work with technical investigators ~ probably the old Naval Avionics group ~ but also to work at the RCA plant then owned by Sarnoff. There’s a lot more to it ~ but I like the streetcar angle because it accounts for Eichmann’s supplemental income in a period where researchers think he was in Argentina but couldn’t quite pin it down ~ putting him in Indianapolis on a turnover deal for the streetcar system fits and gives him a serious stipend at a critical time.
I know it is true because that same paper pointed out that a then living Hitler started the 1982 war between the PLO and Israel in Lebanon.
Nazis had 1 or 2 amazingly advanced subs that would have no problem getting a select few out. Doenitz bragged about it but no one took him seriously.
