Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said on Sunday that chances for a small fiscal cliff deal in the next 48 hours were exceedingly good and that President Barack Obama had won.
I think people dont want to go over the cliff if we can avoid it, Graham said on Fox News Sunday.
This deal wont affect the debt situation, it will be a political victory for the president and I hope well have the courage of our convictions when it comes time to raise the debt ceiling to fight for what we believe as Republicans, but hats off to the president; he won, Graham said. He stood his ground. Hes going to get tax-rate increases.

Shut up, wuss. Fix your hair so you look pretty for your boyfriend Juan McLame.
Is Barney and he dating yet?
This is actually Graham’s (somewhat feeble) attempt to make it clear that Obama is to blame for the tax rate increases. I think it will probably happen, it will be horrible, and it’s important to make it very clear that the GOP opposed it. Obama is trying to make it look exactly the reverse.
I don’t support Graham but his comment was well put:
Graham said. He stood his ground. Hes going to get tax-rate increases.
Why was this not the center piece of the GOP campaign against the POS and his minions in the first place? It is like they wanted to lose and perhaps they did.
The GOP won’t fight for their voters (specifically) and for the American people and the economy (in general) ... and then they wonder why they lose elections
Loser graham of the Loser party.
We should endeavor to elect more losers from the Loser party so they can lose more.
Loser Graham, when you show up to a fight and don’t throw any punches, you get your ass kicked.
The GOP is a joke. I don’t see how anyone takes them seriously anymore.
It is not the most distressing thing in the world that The Won, Bronco Bama, was re-elected, it is just that the establishment Republicans should not be GLOATING about it, as they had won some victory for themselves as well.
Still seething. Secession looks like a better and better option daily.
So once again the elected GOP shows it is mainly populated by GIRLY MEN who are more afraid of being disliked by the liberals, than have the BALLS to represent the people who elected them. More and more it is shown that our leadership believes it belong to the Gutless Old Party.
If it passes the House, then the GOP is going to be blamed
100 years ago this creature would have been tarred and feathered and run out of town or worse, not ELECTED in a state like South Carolina.
I HOPE the GOP members in the HOUSE have the fortitude to stop this.
IF NOT, its time to ABANDON the GOP - TOTALLY.
They are a bunch of gutless capons and surrender monkeys.
They would make a great division in the French Army!!!
But where else is a po conservative to look? Elections are rigged. There will be no third party.
The SOB didn’t win a single seat in my state.
Some may believe that the Kenyan “won” but not all of us. This was the most corrupt “election” I’ve ever seen in my lifetime. He’s this country’s first illegitimate president. And that’s “historical”.
Yep, the GOP surrendered pre-emptively
This whole thing makes me sick. This whole economic fiasco was created by the president and congress yet the wuss GOP will cave in again and will agree with the left to impose higher taxes and more regulations on the American people again. Washington DC is the equivalent of that deadbeat friend we all have who goes out on the town with you, runs up a big bill, and in the end stiffs you with the bill. The American people, for the most part, are just letting this all pass without a fight. We’ve lost our country and from our own stupidity.
Secession, the ONLY option.
Probably. I just wish more of them would come out and put the blame squarely on Obama, who has not “negotiated” from day one but has simply refused or distorted and ignored any and all suggestions.
Rick Santorum was right recently when he said its time to turn to the states because congress is mostly a lost cause. Meanwhile the states themselves are standing tall and defying Obama at every turn.
“Secession looks like a better and better option daily.”
I agree, to me it looks better every nano second. Biggest trajedy in our history, the Union won.
So did every f’n tea party and fiscally responsible congressman.
Just a game to these guys.
We in Louisiana agree
Hat’s off? Good grief, Lindsey. This is no time for compliments. It’s time to plot revenge. Get a grip.
Hmmm... I can’t seem to find any of the several Freepers who ran around defending Bohener and the GOP. They got real upset that we told them he would cave and were ASSURED that he would not.
Where are they?
I wonder What’s Up with that....
Not to worry. They will be back as if nothing ever happened the next time the GOP is about to give away whats left of America, telling us ‘we’ are the problem, not Johnny boy and his merry band of Bennedicts.
Yeah, ain’t it funny that they do this in the face of that “vote for revenge” rhetoric. The Grand Old Surrender Monkey Party.
I think it is time for those states who have HAD IT with these people to go read some of the Articles of Incorporation adopted by states ratifying the Constitution. New York - surprisingly, and Virginia come to mind.
They really just don't get it, do they.
Actually no, in this case. The GOP doesn’t have the power to extend the Bush tax cuts.
Well, some of them did fight, but what can you do when faced with someone who will not negotiate at all and has all the power (particularly since if he doesn’t get his way with at the least the fiction of procedural legitimacy, he goes ahead by executive fiat anyway: look at the government employees’ pay increase). And Harry Reid is equally inflexible, so the GOPers in the Senate clearly couldn’t do anything - except appear in the press everyday calling attention to the situation, which is something they did not do.
It may be that losing was the only possibility, but they shouldn’t go quietly, and the thing that makes me madder than anything else is that they are not even calling attention to Obama’s outrageous and very often unconstitutional behavior in all this. I haven’t heard a peep out of them about the government employee pay-raises, for example. Actually, it’s even worse; it was an exemption from a pay freeze, so even though there’s no inflation, they’re getting what is essentially a COLA increase while Social Security recipients aren’t getting any. And it was Obama’s personal decision. Why not kick and scream about that; I don’t think they’d find many Americans who would support Obama on it.
Why doesn’t the GOP make political hay out of these things? Two sides can play the publicity game, but the GOP is so afraid of what Obama and the press might say about them (how can they get much worse?) that they just sit there and meekly take it without even giving us a rallying cry.
Get off your knees Graham!!
See my tagline.
So “Lindsey(what a FAGGOT Name for a “Man”) is “it”, a Live Boy or a dead WOMEN(my bet is on the boy)”. How many MORE Closeted FAGGOTS do we have INFESTING GOP-e?!
“Why was this not the center piece of the GOP campaign against the POS and his minions in the first place? It is like they wanted to lose and perhaps they did.”
The GOP Establishment would rather have President Obama and the Democrats than have GENUINE conservatives in power.
This is why they foisted Romney upon us, sandbagged true conservatives (Sarah, Sharon Angle, Christine O’Donnell, Todd Akin), and supported RINOs (Chris Christie, Scott Brown).
It is time to SMASH the GOP and replace it with a genuine conservative organization.
The GOP has turned fully liberal, that is why. I think enough conservatives see that. They have been part liberal for many decades, with a somewhat forestalling during Reagan’s tenure, but now the masks are off. They were content to act as Emmanuel Goldstein to the Democrats’ Big Brother for as long as the ploy worked; now they seem to feel that there is no longer the need.
Goober Graham is a poster child for the repeal of the 17th amendment.
America needs major tax cuts if the economy is to ever reverse its downwards plunge (and jobs again for people who want to work). If all the Repubs do is sit around and let obama raise taxes, then we need new Repubs.
IMO, the brand is too tarnished. Too many GOP elites are saying that Boehner’s staying as speaker, too.
The GOP never joined the battle. To quote Joe Biden (even a blind squirrel finds an occasional nut): “Half the time, in this last debate, I didn’t know whether or not Gov. Romney was there to debate Barack Obama or endorse Barack Obama.” We have a choice between Bolsheviks and Mensheviks.
What he really means is:
“Pants Down to the President; BOHICA”
Their performance has been laughable. These guys are losers, pathetic losers.
Should and when Boehner caves, it won't be said of the GOP or the RNC. Standing their ground apparently a big problem for them, one that surely will get uglier when their donors and number of registered voters refuse to commit to a wishy-washy spineless political party run by people who have lost their conservative compass.
Yes it is. But here’s the thing. Remember that 90s drug war commercial where the dad finds pot in his kids room?
It reminds me of the situation here.
Ss” “Why did you compromise and let Obama get his way yet again? This id going to total the economy!!!” (said while pointing to the cave in on the fiscal cliff)
GOP: “I learned it by watching you, alright?” (Said while pointing to the 2012 election where the GOP ‘base’ compromised everything they believed in to vote for a lifetime liberal.)
Truth hurts.
Graham is a weenie with a backbone of jello
One more in your corner.
