Why do Americans think the British dont have the right of self-defence?. Sorry, but those of us here at FR who are British are sick and tired of having to correct this myth and tell the facts. We have the right, we have never lost it, and in fact, the laws have been strengthened in our favour.

And neither did the UK have its arms taken all away. Only handguns on the mainland (they are legal in NI as is concealed carry). Rifles and shotguns are legal all over the UK.

We read the occasional story re somebody (in London?) defending themselves and being hauled away to, well, wherever it is they haul you away to.

Also, I thought your rifles and shotguns were a) only allowed to a select few and b) had to be stored in a facility not your home.

Finally, what kind of rifles and shotguns are we talking about?
