If Michelle Obama's greige nail polish she wore during her Democratic National Convention speech was enough to spark discussion from Pulitzer prize-winning authors, then her Christmas Day polish is sure to cause fireworks.
The First Lady, visiting a military base in Hawaii with President Barack Obama, celebrated December 25th in summery style, wearing a sleeveless cotton dress, sandals and a neon yellow pedicure.
While she kept her hands bare, the pop of yellow on her toes was a simple way to liven up and add some colour to her black and white ensemble.
The president and his family spent the Christmas holiday in Hawaii, Obamas birthplace, and the perfect location for a bright, summer-inspired pedicure.
Neon nails: While she kept her hands bare, the pop of lime-tinged yellow on her toes was a simple way to add some colour to her black and white ensemble
She teamed her eye-popping polish with a pair of Lanvin sandals. She has worn the sandals, originally $995, once before in September 2011 during an Independence day barbeque at the White House.
With relatively strict codes of conservatism for Mrs Obama's wardrobe, it seems an alternatively-coloured manicure (or in this instance, pedicure) is a subtle way to have a bit of fun with her looks.

Is she wearing a pillow case?
Her yellow toe nails are the least of her fashion problem. Look at the outfit she is wearing. This “woman” as well as her husband exhibit the most inappropriate behavior for the positions that they are so blessed with.
I looked but all i saw was a bowling pin w/ orangutan arms.
No, she's just turning into the Stay-Puff Marshmallow Man...
By 1989, the trademark portrait had been gradually modernized and today the bandana on the head is gone, and the " servant woman in the kitchen" appearance is gone with it.
(....see # 25 above).
Thanks for the warning. I wasn't going to click the link until I read some replies and got to your reply. No way now.....
See Phyllis Diller in her new comedy role as "The Watermelon Woman"!
Mississippi: the subtle state. ;D
“...we see Afrisquach has captured its prey and is leading the beast back to its den...”
LOL <<<haven’t laughed this hard in a long time....
“...to her black and white ensemble.”
Oh - Barack was there too?
“How can you put up a post that references something visual and not post the picture with the post?”
Call it a cup of kindness.
I was thinking pretty much the same thing — a black bra and a white dishtowel (extra extra large size) with elastic at the top. Fashion FAIL.
I admit I come to these M.O. threads for a fix of Freeper humor myself - and a chance to make use of my collection of Mooshell “glamour pix”!
So, the flour sack is back in style?
What a wonderful thread..refreshing after my holiday from hell.
I wish someone would post the pic of the double bagger Mooch and the girls, who unfortunately seem to be following in their mother’s butt-steps, leaning over a railing at the Grand Canyon. It’s an extra butt-acious view of Moochie’s now famous arse, which of course we had all hoped would have disappeared from our view by now.
Picture Barbara or Laura Bush, classy first ladies that they are, playing the role of classless tourists in shorts!!! bending over a railing with that man-stance of hers.
PS: Daily laughs at Michelle’s Mirror.com about this very stuff.
Have you seen those toenails??? That is the color of banana flavored Laffy Taffy! Well, the yellow may be a bit more neon. Regardless, it is not purdy. I have to think that Michelle has a wicked sense of humor. Maybe she is attempting to entice her lover. Who really knows. She is a lot more interesting than Hillary ever was. Can you imagine Hillary wearing any other color toenail polish than black? Ugh.
