Former Detroit Lions offensive lineman Lomas Brown has apologized for recent comments he made about Scott Mitchell, claiming he regrets intentionally missing a block decades ago that resulted in the quarterback suffering an injury.
Brown, currently an NFL analyst for ESPN, admitted during a radio interview this past Friday that he allowed a defender to hit Mitchell because he was frustrated with the struggling quarterback when the two were Lions teammates in 1994.

ESPN is hard to read these days. They are normally pushing some agenda and are as left wing as their ABC owners. Not to mention Grantland, Bill Simmons’s little venture.
As a former offensive lineman, two huge motivators were not losing your starting job and not getting anyone hurt (especially a quarterback) because of your bad play/missed assignment. To do something like that on purpose is beyond the pale and inexcusable.
A similar situation was fictionalized and made it into a recent episode of Rizzoli and Isles on TNT as motivation for a murder.
Just email the sponsors and tell them you won't buy their products that advertise on the shows. You can still watch football , but just hurt them where they have their hearts... in the wallets. That way they sponsor something without the benefits... neat huh? Worked for all the sponsors that pulled out of Rush Limbaugh's show.

Brown was always a selfish, whiny loudmouth. As I recall, one year, he held out through training camp, then signed right at the star of the regular season. He reclaimed his starting job right away - a huge coaching error, in my opinion - and began playing before being properly physically-conditioned.
The result was an almost-immediate high ankle sprain that kept him out for several weeks. Playing out-of-shape was damaging to the team and a thumb-in-the-nose to Lions fans.
I was very happy to see him leave the team.
