Notre Dame Fans Continue To Trash Alabama With Offensive National Championship T-Shirts

In the month leading up to Notre Dame's first trip to the national championship game in more than two decades, Irish faithful have created a series of T-shirts bashing their opponent, Alabama.

Notre Dame is winning the trash-talking battle with the series of racy shirts, but the last thing Notre Dame needs is to provide a feisty Crimson Tide team and fan base with any source of motivation before the game.

Maybe Alabama will take the shirts for their comedic value.

Eleven days to the BCS National Championship game:

Former Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen drew criticism from the public less than two weeks ago when he tweeted out a photo of this shirt:

And here's the latest pro-Notre Dame shirt:

It is not about football

Then by all means, explain to the rest of us just exactly what YOU BELIEVE it is about!

My point is simply that they are not entirely cesspools. They are large institutions which do much good in the world. Why condemn them so wholeheartedly. It is misplaced. Moreover, the point is also that the disease is endemic to society as a whole, and the institutions are as much victims as perpetrators.

This Texas A&M alumni is hoping Alabama wins this game by at least 50 points.

"Alumnus". "Alumni" is plural.

That'll teach me to attend the University of Minnesota, where college football is, unfortunately, not played.

Of course you “really don’t care.” THAT is precisely your problem. You merely hate. No one mentioned George Gipp or Knute Rockne. Nor Reagan nor Cagney. I didn’t. But try Ara Parseghian, who is not dead, and who has suffered more than you can ever image and yet donated millions of dollars to charity. Try Brian Kelley, who gives enormously to cancer research. Nor is my father dead, thank you very much, the most loving graduate the University of Notre Dame has ever turned out. With respect to gays, as I said, take it up with the Pope. ND does follow his directives on the matter. You are simply wrong. With respect to abortion, I quoted to you the university’s position. With respect to Obamacare, they were onto of first Catholic institutions to file a lawsuit. Again, you are simply blinded by your hatred, and your insistence on reiterating nonsense in long, pointless posts here is simply the evidence of it. I may have all kinds of issues with that thoroughly secular football factory you call a university in Alabama, but I don’t hate it. I know many good people who have gone there. Just stop with the hating. It’s Christmas. Good day. And, Go Irish! Beat Bama!

Oh, I quite agree on both points. It can happen. That's why they play the games. I also agree with comparing ND to BSU. The main difference being that BSU lacked the nationwide hype machine.

That said, I don't think it will happen. I think Alabama crushes.

Have another tank of Jenkins' Kool-Aid! The Notre Dame you hallucinate is long dead. It is only Notre Shame now.

Notre Shame may occasionally talk a good game on pro-life but it harbors on its board of trustees Chicago Demonrat Machine pro-aborts. I am waiting for your explanation of the shameful arrest of Fr. Weslin and other pro-lifers protesting Obozo's presence on the NS campus, much less his status as commencement speaker and his receipt of an honorary law degree.

I also eagerly await your rationalizations as to the retention of the execrable anti-Catholic "theologian" Fr. Richard McBrien as sometime Theology faculty chairthing and for nearly fifty years a professor on the theology faculty at Notre Shame.

Google Land 'o Lakes Conference and learn of the perfidy and dishonesty of the Notre Shame of the Hesburgh regime. If these creatures pretend to Catholicism, they are phonies and frauds and worse.

Thomas Jefferson's quotable cousin, John Randolph of Roanoke, once said: "I am a gentleman. I love liberty and I hate equality!"

In a similar vein: I am a Catholic. I love the Faith and I despise its internal enemies posing as though they were Catholic.

If that is hate, make the most of it. I am not some spaghetti-spined Kumbaya holding hands around the campfire and singing songs of compromise with and unwarranted "love" for these enemies of Catholicism. There are many here on FR who resolutely oppose Catholicism as various forms of fundamentalist or evangelical Christians. Unlike Notre Shame's disgraceful leaders, those other Christians are honest men and women expressing their sincere faith which they view as rooted in the Word of God. Hesburgh, Molloy, Jenkins, McBrien, et al., were and are fifth columnists and termites in the woodwork of the Faith.

Charitable contributions can be a nice thing or otherwise but they do not define Catholicism. John D. Rockefeller, Henry Ford, Andrew Carnegie, J. P. Morgan and many others have given colossal amounts to charity. Sometimes, as with Carnegie's contributions to free public libraries, they have achieved good. Often with such as the Ford Foundation, they have achieved much evil and often purposely so.

AND, I live in rural Northern Illinois (and previously in Connecticut near Yale). I carry no brief ordinarily for University of Alabama. It happens to be Notre Shame's next opponent and therefore worthy of encouragement. I don't believe that Bear Bryant, George Wallace or Frank Johnson were ever Catholic but they were better Catholics than the Judas trash that misruled and misrules Notre Shame under Hesburgh, Molloy and Jenkins. That would not be much of a challenge for anyone.

Go Bama! Rout the Faux Leprechauns! Touchdown, Jesus!!!

It about celebrating the crude society. Read the late Judge Bork’s book “ Slouching to Ghomorrah”

That'll teach me to attend the University of Minnesota, where college football is, unfortunately, not played.

It was when Giel, Stephens, Bell, Eller, Brown, Nomellini and Nagurski played.

I'm amazed schools from the northern states are as successful recruiting as they are.

I think Alabama crushes.

They aren't playing Western Carolina, Florida Atlantic, Western Kentucky, a mediocre Tennessee, or a pathetic Auburn or Arkansas.

Yep......and SEC homers all told me that “high school” team Boise State couldn’t play with the Dawgs in the Dome last year....LMAO.....and I was told it would take Texas A&M 3-4 years of recruiting “SEC talent” before they would be able to play with the top tier SEC schools like Alabama.....LOL. And if I were you, I wouldn’t be bringing up and comparing strength of schedule.....Western Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, Western Carolina....are you friggin’ kidding me.....and then their “grueling SEC schedule”.......Ole Miss, Auburn, Tennessee.....funny stuff...and that’s half of Alabama’s schedule. Alabama might win, but for you SEC homers to pretend ND can’t stay on the field with Bama seems like whistling past the graveyard to me.

Speaking of it being just a game, hubby has this article running on his Twitter feed. This is funny. And I would be concerned about AJ McC being distracted except he’s tweeting about going to prayer meetings.

She is a very attractive young lady, but I believe AJ's focus will be the National Championship game. He has an opportunity to make NCAA football history.
