Visitors coming to the nation's capital for President Barack Obama's second inauguration can't stay in the one place President Ronald Reagan's family once called an eight-star hotel. That spot is the White House, and it's booked for the next four years. Still, inauguration-goers have a range of lodging options from crashing on a friend's couch to rooms that cost thousands of dollars a night.
With second inaugurations tending to draw fewer spectators, finding a place to stay in Washington won't be nearly as difficult as in 2009.
City officials are expecting 600,000 to 800,000 visitors for the Jan. 21 inauguration, far less than the 1.8 million people who flooded the National Mall four years ago to witness the inauguration of America's first black president.

“City officials are expecting 600,000 to 800,000 visitors...”
So many a-holes, stupidity, takers, scum, filth, garbage, trash, dirt, crap etc etc etc all in one place... Nah, I won’t say it.
You own it, morons!
I wonder how many will be stuck in the Purple Tunnel this time?

I won’t be watching either - I’ll be working. I mean ... someone has to pay for this (puke).
As an act of fiscal responsibility President Obama should cancel all the Inauguration Balls. He should say “in these tough economic times we shouldn’t be spending money on luxuries.” He should just do a quiet swearing in ceremony and that’s it.
A rerun of “Gilligan’s Island” would be more watchable.
Maybe even Geraldo’s “Mystery of Al Capone’s Vaults” (lol) would even be better TV.
What was the purple tunnel?
Well the Trash Haulers will be busy after the non event.
My TV will be off that day. I am not a communist. I do not like this president because he is a fraud and he is ruining the US. He deserves no respect at all. He deserves scorn and derision.
For the second time in my life, neither will I.
May they have lovely GoreBull warming weather for the event.(’
Strange, there are sooooo many more unemployed than last time. Ingrates!
Wind with a driving rain and temps around 35 would be ideal conditions for those in attendance...
Another dark day in Washington.
I never watched in ‘08. Watching the greatest hoax on America being given the office of presidency was repulsive to me. Evil is not to be watched but EXPOSED.
If you are a member of the muslim brotherhood you could stay at the eight star hotel.
Hey! Don’t knock the G-man.
The key metric here is “140”.
That’s the amount of garbage, in tons, that the Obama revelers left in their wake on the National Mall after the 2009 inaugural.
I’ll probably never forget driving across the Mall on 3rd St the next day and being so incredibly upset at the extent to which it had been trashed. I’ve been in DC during big Mall events before and with only a few exceptions (like the Glenn Beck Rally, where the event-goers actually cleaned up messes that were already there) there’s always some garbage left. But the East end of the Mall was frikkin’ destroyed.
THEN there were the news stories (never given national prominence) about the other damage wrought by Obama fans. Like the destruction (via trampling) of the gardens behind the the Smithsonian Castle.
Funny how the Tea Party conservatives are the real, practicing enviromentalists.
Expect more trash to be dumped on the streets by those from the Party of Trash. Then again, its rather fitting decorations for the corrupted nations capital in these times.
I predict it will be largely locals. Most of the visitors will not be there for the inauguration.
actually this will be his 4th inauguration, inaugurations 2 and 3 being held in secret with no press
I’ll bet the unions will be busing in the majority of those 600,000 to 800,000 “visitors”. They’re going to want to make sure the Kenyan remembers who put him there.
2nd Inaugurals are always less populated. I remember Reagan’s second. He was lucky to have a person attend with all the snow and deep freezing temperatures.
There has been talks about canceling second inaugurals for same president for years. However, the problem is that they start planning the day after the first inaugural. I don’t think they should cancel any of them. It is a part of our government that we always have a smooth transition from one term to the other regardless of who is President. This is good for our country.
I was thinking of "Flipper". If it's good enough for Lex Luthor, it's good enough for me.
“Hey! Dont knock the G-man.”
Which one?
Gilligan or Geraldo?
lol
Gilligan or Geraldo?
