Amid talk of reinstating the assault weapons ban that expired eight years ago, police departments nationwide are thinking of ways to confiscate such weapons.

As WCBS 880’s Marla Diamond reported, among the departments considering taking action is the NYPD. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said if Congress were to reinstate the ban, police are wondering whether it will be their responsibility to confiscate them.

police departments nationwide are thinking of ways to confiscate such weapons

Fifth Amendment: "No person shall be...deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law..."

IMO The fact that they're thinking of ways to confiscate peoples' firearms, is evidence that they know people will not meekly surrender them.

The result, of course, would mean Ruby Ridge & Branch Davidian style raids, across the country, and would likely provide Obama the excuse he needs, to declare martial law.

Which, perhaps, is the ultimate goal.

I commented on this scene of the movie a couple of days ago in a couple of threads.

Not only is Bloomberg an idiot, he is also a liar.

How can you tell? When his lips move.

As of this moment, it’s unlikely that local cops will go house to house confiscating illegal firearms. After all, they’re our neighbors with ties to the communities they live in.

If you think I've missed anything then you don't know me.

Funny how some folks get their back up when they get caught talking like a liberal.

I can't believe you suggested that anyone in this community cooperate with the jackboot gun grabbers.

80 million gun owners? That’s a lot of doors to kick down - especially if there’s an ornery patriot on the other side.

If they start coming for our guns, they'd better worry more about trees and rooftops than kicking in doors.

O and his ilk will not hesitate to bring in UN troops with blue helmets to confiscate.

This would be in direct violation of the US Constitution.

Section 9, paragraph 3 of Article I says, “No Bill of Attainder or ex-post facto Law shall be passed.”

Have you seen the Daily News and NY Post front pages, they are calling Lapierre Crazy. Support for the NRA is being demonized and ridiculed and demonized. How long do you think it will take for the Repubs to throw the NRA and us overboard?

UN troops, what a joke. Their casualty rate would be perhaps the highest ever encountered when they got to the rural areas of the US. Better tell Ban Ki-moon to order one body bag per trooper sent.

” Other than a few that might be in the hands of organized crime bosses and drug dealers, I can’t imagine that there are very many “assault rifles” within the boundaries of New York City.

It’s virtually impossible just to get a pistol permit there, unless you’re a celebrity with national name recognition.”

It looks like New York is the Liberal’s testing ground. They are making headway in disarming the public and have even made huge inroads into policing what it’s citizens may eat and drink. So far, there hasn’t been all that much push-back, which must be very encouraging to the wannabe American Gestapo.

I’m afraid their confidence might be a little misplaced and off the mark. There would no doubt be some nasty surprises in store for them if they decide to push their agenda in some other parts of the country.

I was thinking thermite.

If you can manufacture it, it works great. I love watching it burn through vehicles.

Yep. That’s why I’m settling for a 9mm carbine.

It also helps to round out my little collection.

If this order were ever given half of my towns police force would vanish. More than half of the dispatchers, too.

No 'back up' here. If you want to commit suicide to make a political point that the MSM won't report and the opposition won't care about for a Constitution that no longer exists go right ahead.

If I'm going to fight a war I intend to inflict heavy damage repeatedly and continuously for as long as possible. I just can't imagine anyone thinking that throwing lives away to make a big show is somehow a rational tactic of war that has been passed down through centuries of victory.

But if you think you've made some great point that overshadows the (literally) thousands of times I have post MOLON LAVE then sit back and feel good about yourself. You're usually pretty intelligent but no one has a perfect record. ;-)

I doubt very much if police departments across the country are worried about this.

The amount of vitriol spewing from the Kulturkampfers in Bloomberg’s little crime ridden paradise over the Second Amendment exceeds belief here.

The Daily News called Wayne LaPierre the Craziest Man in the world. Today’s New York Daily news is full of editorializations by the left-wing thought NAZIs in the media.

Bloomberg is fairly BURSTING with self-righteousness over this subject, as always.
