President Obama has threatened House Speaker John Boehner that if no deal is struck on the “fiscal cliff,” he will use his Inaugural address and State of the Union speech next month to blame Republicans, according to the Wall Street Journal.
In the Journal’s behind the scenes account of how fiscal cliff talks between Obama and Boehner hit a wall, what comes across is that the president is emboldened by his reelection and eager to extract more concessions from Boehner than he was willing to accept during last summer’s debt limit talks.
This excerpt from the piece is revealing:
Mr. Obama repeatedly lost patience with the speaker as negotiations faltered. In an Oval Office meeting last week, he told Mr. Boehner that if the sides didn’t reach agreement, he would use his inaugural address and his State of the Union speech to tell the country the Republicans were at fault.
At one point, according to notes taken by a participant, Mr. Boehner told the president, “I put $800 billion [in tax revenue] on the table. What do I get for that?”
“You get nothing,” the president said. “I get that for free.”

Obama told Bonehead to do Plan B to try to sucker conservatives into
voting for Tax Increases. If they could make conservatives reject their
principals on this bill, how could they vote for no tax increases on the next.
Bonehead was doing Obamas bidding.

My dream would be to see the entire GOP walk out of the SOTU if Zero starts to bash them.

If Boehner didn’t know that Obama is going to blame the GOP for everything under the sun he is even dumber than I thought.
What kind of silly threat is this to say he is going to blame the GOP we already know that.

Boehner should have sent his assistant, Cantor, to deal with Reid’s assistant, Obama.
Then he and Reid could have taken it from there.
Dealing with an underling was a mistake.
Let it burn! The producing class can hold off earning extra income to pay their taxes longer than the free stuff class can do without their food stamps, birth control pills and Obamaphones.

Boehner needs to stop acting like the battered wife here and tell this sociopath to stuff it.
The Republicans better start getting in front of some microphones every damned day and start controlling the narrative on this.
Once GOPe sees the size of Sarah's brigade, they'll beome a bit more accomodating to us.
I agree that they should “shut Obama down” but they had better be prepared to impeach him because he does not intend to stop spending regardless of whether they appropriate any funds or not.
The only winning move is not to play.
Boehner should never have met, let alone bargain w/ Ø.
Fact is that the house is popularly elected for a reason, it is the most responsive wing of govt to the people w/ 2-year election cycle and 435 members, and therefore by design all revenue bills ORIGINATE in the house.... not via some back room executive negotiation. By meeting w/ Ø, he was being handed more power than Constitutionally warranted. Boehner’s first promise was to let the house work as advertised - there are committees and sub-committees where budgets, appropriations, revenue and so on are planned and formed into bills. KEEP IT WITHIN the house where it belongs, then, and ONLY THEN, ship it off to the Senate. Reed (sicK!) and Ø can do as they like after that. If they don’t like it, they can shove the bill where the sun don’t shine.
The GOP will be blamed for everything no matter what Boner does, that’s how the left controls the GOP, only the GOP has not figured that out yet, or probably does not care.

Boner has no firmness
Obummer has no discipline, leadership, or expierience.
As long as we don’t change the baby’s diaper , he will grow a rash , and then do something mighty hastily .
At least then , we will know that we have his attention.
He has crapped on “Fast and Furious”, Benghazi , and his self-created “fiscal cliff” with his lack of restraint.
He is overdue for a swat-down , or a diaper change . !
