That’s one way to look at it.

Another way to look at it was the station gave them both the gift of time.

WOR was purchased in August by Clear Channel,

That would seem to be the explanation for this change. I'd say they were lucky to be kept on as long as they were. Maybe their contracts make it easier to do this at the end of the year.

I thought Gomer Huckleberry was supposed to clean Rush’s clock? [snicker]

The liberal lie that only rednecks and morons listen to conservative talk radio is belied by the fact that Limbaugh and Hannity get big ratings in the most sophisticated city in America that has a very liberal population. WOR wouldn't be dumping liberals like former Governor Paterson or even the RINO Huckabee to replace with Hannity and Limbaugh if the numbers didn't add up. Radio, just like TV, is first and foremost a business. It exists to sell products and make money. Conservative talk radio gets listeners and that means money for the station's owners. Leftists refuse to understand this simple fact of life. More power to Rush and Sean.

Well, poor old John Gambling’s head is probably on the block. Maybe he can go to Fox and replace crazy Curtis Sliwa in the morning or over to WABC and replace horrible Geraldo.

A year or so ago they dumped Steve Malzberg to go more to the middle left with Gov. Patterson. I guess that didn’t work out for them.

My new favorite radio talk show is Red Eye Radio. I like them even better than Rush or Hannity. We need these two taking on the ignorant masses, they would finally understand why socialism doesn’t work.

Rush has been really funny as of late and has done an excellent job of putting it all in perspective (including Newtown And Boehner’s Plan B). He had Barack-O-Claus LOL Christmas songs on Friday!

Maybe interesting fact. Jean Shepherd of “A Christmas Story” was a talk show host on WOR for many years.

Supertalk Mississippi has replaced the 3-6 slot with Schnitt. After Schnitt’s attack upon the NRA and some of his liberal spoutings, I can see he won’t be long for this market. I thought he sucked big time yesterday and deserved to be shut down here for what he was saying. His libtard rant may fly in the NE but here he is going to make some die hard enemies.

This might be a bit off topic, but any FReepers who enjoy Fox News Talk on Sirius/XM (Brian Kilmeade, John Gibson, Tom Sullivan, Spencer Hughes) should be aware that Sirius/XM is threatening to drop the station come the first of the year.

If you care, call or email (warning: Sirius/XM has outsourced their “customer care”, likely to India, which will make a telephone call very frustrating).

Long-time station mainstay Dr. Joy Browne was dismissed Thursday...

I love it! You don't get more far-left than that woman.
