Mayor Emanuel has released a fiery statement denouncing the National Rifle Association for advocating armed police in about every school.
Rahm Emanuel prepared an unusually strong statement, even by his standards.
“It’s outrageous and unsettling that the NRA would choose to address gun violence not by taking assault weapons off our streets, but by adding more guns to our schools, " the mayor said in a statement.
The statement went on to say "that is not the right answer for our society, our schools and most importantly our children. People across this country, from small towns to big cities, are united and ready to pass common-sense gun control legislation.”
The mayor says the time has come for the NRA to get on board or get out of the way.
It’s worth noting that for many years, many Chicago high schools have had armed police and metal detectors.

Ask him why 446 school children have been mirdered in Chicago in 2012, then see if he has any breath left to attack the NRA.
Our government even proved while engaging in their own Black Market.

It’s time to put politics aside, and pass a law requiring every teacher to be issued a sidearm to be carried at all times in school, and trained to use it. Teachers who refuse should be suspended until they get psychiatric counseling for their hoplophobia. Some people may say this goes to far, but we mus act quickly for the sake of the children.
Liberal leaders have a Pavlovian instinct to generate more victims regardless of the issues...whichever path creates victims results in sheep subservient to the socialist state.
It’s amazing that he even recoils from the mention of his own police protecting children...NO...the children MUST remain defenseless, so liberals can focus on the NRA/Tea Party boogeyman and enact more draconian legislation curtailing our liberties...even if his socialist agenda is written in the children’s blood.
So Rahm will immediately order all of those Chicago cops out of the schools. Right?
And an assault weapon wasn't used at Sandy Hook so stop exploiting tragedies for political gain.

Hey mayor - 400 kids were shot and killed in Chicago so far in 2012. What are you doing about that????
I have a better idea. As a FReeper project, we should get volunteers into all the schools. It could start in January, with Vets taking the lead. since we all have firearm training, and it could be quickly implemented. Imagine pressuring the school boards.
I think it would be easy to make most schools safe immediately. We have lots of moms and pops, grandmas and grandpas with guns! What could make the kids safer?
A great FReeper project, or get the NRA behind it..
Look at the impact from one unarmed dad! He made national news, and I'd bet a bundle that that school is safer with him there, even unarmed!!!
