The Blood-Lusting Hate Speech of the Anti-Gun Left

In the aftermath of the horrific Newtown, Conn., school massacre, Americans from all parts of the political spectrum agree that we need to pay more attention to mental health issues. Public death threats and incitements to violence must be taken seriously. The incendiary witch hunt against law-abiding, peaceful gun owners is neither noble nor effective. It’s just plain insane.

Over the past week, I’ve witnessed a disturbing outbreak of off-the-rails hatred toward gun owners and Second Amendment groups. Whatever your views on guns, we can all agree: The Newtown gunman was a monster who slaughtered his own mother, five heroic educators and 20 angel-faced schoolchildren. He ignored laws against murder. He bypassed Connecticut’s strict gun control regulations, and he circumvented the Sandy Hook Elementary School’s security measures. Every decent American is horrified and heartsick by this outbreak of pure evil.

But tens of millions of law-abiding men and women own and use guns responsibly in this country. The cynical campaign to demonize all armed men and women as monsters must not go unanswered. What’s most disturbing is that the incitements are coming from purportedly respectable, prominent and influential public figures.

Consider the rhetoric of University of Rhode Island Professor Erik Loomis. He teaches “U.S. environmental history, the Civil War, late 19th and early 20th century America, labor history, and the American West” in the university’s history department. Online, however, Loomis is a militantly unhinged foe of all things conservative.

This week, the nutty professor took to Twitter to rail against law-abiding gun owners and the National Rifle Association. “Looks like the National Rifle Association has murdered some more children,” Loomis fumed. “Now I want Wayne LaPierre’s head on a stick,” he added. (LaPierre is executive vice president and CEO of the NRA.) Loomis was just warming up.

Proving once again that Liberalism is a form of mental illness.

All of this was preceded by the New Black Panthers talking about killing the white babies, and Jamie Foxx on SNL talking about how cool it is to kill white people in his latest movie, and nary a peep from the oh-so-tolerant Left.

Now that the expressed desires/fantasies of the New Black Panthers and Jamie Foxx have been realized, everyone is running around, wringing their hands, and calling for violence against law-abiding citizens who happen to support their rights under the 2nd Amendment.

A few days after the tragic Sandy Hook school murders, a young Marine in fatigues stationed himself at the front entrance of the Nashville elementary school his two children attend. Another parent heard him admit to a reporter that he was unarmed. The other parent commented that, even though the young Marine standing guard was not armed, it made him “feel better” to know he was there.

It’s often been observed that “perception is more important than reality”. The observation is often correct. It is never MORE CORRECT than for those we’ve come to call “liberals”. I prefer “statist” but “liberal” has morphed from its classic meaning to the other end of the spectrum so I’ll stay with it.

Since these folks operate almost entirely on EMOTION and FEELING, REALITY seldom allows FACTS to intrude upon the delusional worldview they have constructed and the comfort that provides them. It is that illogical, irrational and delusional mindset that prompts many of them to continue to quest after a Utopian society. The thought that such a society can and will never be achieved in a fallen world populated with failed sinners never penetrates whatever remains of their cognitive consciousness. It’s a DANGEROUS WORLD and, as the liberals continue to “define deviancy down”, it becomes more dangerous daily.

There is another, far more sinister, level of the “liberal” call for gun control.

It was Mencken who offered that “The urge to save humanity is most often a false front for the URGE TO RULE.” He clearly had been a student of the liberal politicians of his day. Were he alive today and able to observe the likes of Chuck Schumer, Diane Feinstein, Obama and the rest, he’d almost certainly have used far stronger language to frame his sage observation.

To conclude, dozens of studies reveal the FACTS concerning gun control. Those FACTS are that where firearms are widely and READILY available to law-abiding citizens, CRIME GOES DOWN! The liberals who willfully ignore the FACTUAL EVIDENCE and continue to call for gun control (i.e. the DISARMING of DECENT CITIZENS, thereby denying them the ability to exercise their God-given right to self-defense) are those about whom Mencken wrote: Their goal is NOT about preserving life. It is about the hell-bent pursuit of the impossible to achieve Utopian world where all are equal but some (that’d be THEM) are MORE equal than others (that’d be US).

There are many PRO-RTKABA videos on You Tube that your often busy lives don’t allow you to find on your own. Search there for “Gun Control”, watch them – and, more importantly – SHARE THEM with the folks in your orbit.

We’re in a fight. And losing will ultimately cost us much more than our right to our guns.

The sheer hatefulness on display at most leftist websites is very enlightening about who these people are.

I’ve always been disturbed by people who claim that “perception is reality”, or “perception is more important that reality”). How anyone can make that statement with a straight face is beyond me. Reality is the most important piece of any issue, topic or discussion.

To a liberal, it’s a way of life (or, in this case, DEATH).

BE CAREFUL! Back in 1968, the murder of Bobby Kennedy was an anti-gunner’s wet dream come true.

Bobby Kennedy was killed with a small American made .22 revolver, an Iver Johnson Cadet.

John Kennedy was killed in 1963 with a 5 shot bolt action military surplus rifle. Italian Carcano.

When the 1968 gun control act passed,(due to the passing out of huge amounts of cash to the states for “crime control”), it banned what the antis have been dreaming of for years.

A ban on 5 shot bolt action army surplus rifles.
A ban on small foreign pistols and revolvers.
A ban on military equipment. A gun shop in Tulsa was raided because they imported flintlock flints.

All of this did not ban the pistol used to kill Bobby, and it did nothing to ban foreign police surplus rifles which were the same as military rifles, just not issued to the army.

Congressmen from CT, Mass and NY had wanted a ban on military surplus to protect their local industries like COLT, S&W, Savage and Winchester.

Why should an American buy a $12.00 army rifle to hunt with when they should be buying a high dollar American made hunting rifle!

And why should they be buying a military Army surplus Enfield or Webley pistol when they should be buying a high dollar US made handgun?

The devil is in the details so be real careful with this as the antis today are far worse than the antis of the 1960s.

Leftist legislation is so bad that they can only pass it under two circumstances.

Forcing our representatives to pass the legislation without reading the legislation - Health Care.

Using slimy lawyer ambulance chasing techniques to shame our representatives - Gun Control

Did I mention that the 1968 Gun Control Law was based on the 1938 Nazi Weapons Act of Nazi Germany.

Thomas J Dodd had a copy of it to copy from.

Yes, to a liberal, emotion trumps reality. That says everything you need to know about their mindset, their worldview. Facts are stubborn things, but they cannot trump the egregious level of cognitive dissonance on the left.

Reality is reality regardless of one’s perception (words mean things). Perceptions are clouded by biases and that should be enough to relieve the oh-so tolerant left of their shibboleths. When reality doesn’t match agenda, then well, reality must be in your imagination...

If you really want to see slavering, dripping, paranoiac hatred towards Americans and the 2nd Amendment, go to the comments section of the British paper The Guardian.
