Gunman’s computers may be key in Connecticut school shooting investigation
Yahoo, The Lookout ^ | 12/16/12 | Jason Sickles

Posted on 12/16/2012 12:22:46 PM PST by EBH

For a young man who has been described as withdrawn from the outside world, Lanza's computer room is likely a gold mine for detectives, a veteran law enforcement source familiar with the investigation told Yahoo News.

"If he visited certain websites, they are going to glean whatever information they can from that and see what it means," said the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to discuss the investigation publicly. "Does he have friends he communicates with online? Was there a fight with somebody?"

Lt. J. Paul Vance with the Connecticut State Police told reporters Sunday morning that investigators are scrutinizing the guns Lanza took to the school, including the semiautomatic military-style rifle the state's medical examiner said was used in the school killings.

"The weaponry involved, we are tracing historically all the way back to when they were on the workbench being assembled," Lt. Vance said.

However, he declined to discuss what else has been recovered from the Lanza home.

"Simply stated, we have a great deal of evidence that we're analyzing," Lt. Vance said. "The forensic part is an important part. That's not done yet."

While the gunman is thought to have acted alone, the law enforcement source said a deep dive into Lanza's computers could provide more clues.

"You don't know if this kid was put up to this by somebody else," the source said. "You don't know if there was a conspiracy of sorts. You don't know if there wasn't somebody who wasn't goading this kid on."

Ebb, thanks for posting this thread!

Lucy,

Pinging you to this topic, it is getting VERY “interesting”...... as in the saying “may you live in interesting times”.

Somebody let the Colorado perp into the theater.

In this latest atrocity look at the early reports of other guys around, one saying “I didn’t do it” and then we don’t hear squat about it.....

( was that guy tailing the perp to try to catch him and didn’t quite get there in time?)

Yeah, but why would the kids be the ones pulling the trigger?

It boggles the mind how incompetent some people are. I mean, when it’s your job to investigate, and you don’t even check all the browsers (browser history) on the computer, how dumb is that? My goodness.

Yep! Something so basic. How could you miss that?

Thats like.. like... well the Cowboys defense not covering the reciever OR pressuring the quarterback.... even 1 of the two would be an improvement.

But I digressed.

It’s bothersome that a “source” basically vocalizes complete fantasy. He has absolutely no idea, it is total speculation.

In a war, the enemy looks for cracks in the defenses, how to exploit weaknesses....

is it possible those who did not wish for those fathers to testify found a weakness and turned it to their (the ones who exploited) advantage?

There is evil in the world, and it is uncovered when one follows the money.... any threat to powerful people/ groups is dealt with by them..... severely.

How is it that both the Batman shooter and the Connecticut shooters fathers BOTH were to testify regarding LIBOR.

LIBOR.

Big money.

Big scandal.

Capable of toppling....

Nations....

one saying “I didn’t do it” and then we don’t hear squat about it.....<<<<

Was the brother making that statement? Apparently the gunman had stolen his brother’s ID card. Check out this article:

Lucy,

No, it was the guy in camo who said that.

The guy was near/in the wooded area.

Then we hear no more about it, not even anything to the effect of ‘we questioned so and so about it and found he wasn’t involved’

...they can’t keep using 5-7 year old pics on the news.

Yeah. They tried that same trick with Trayvon Martin and it didn't work. Oh, wait...

I read that the Dad gave up a lot in the divorce. He was blind-sided when she asked for the divorce, he did not want it. His attorney said that when he told Lanza what he had to give in support, that Lanza increased that amount.

She got the house and $20,000 per month ($240k per year), and I don’t know what a GE VP makes, but I’m sure that didn’t leave him with a lot. I read that he lives in a “modest one-story house.” It isn’t surprising that he doesn’t have much left over to spend on fancy digs and cars.

The reverse is often true. Some psychoactive meds make you gain weight and get puffy. Risperidal for one.

He must have gotten cleaned out in the divorce though

I read, true or not, that he offered up more than the agreed upon support amount. Sounds like guilt for dumping the kid on the mother.
