There have been a lot of factual errors in the chaotic rush to get details about today’s shooting in Connecticut. But one fact that seemed established across the board was that victim Nancy Lanza, the mother of alleged shooter Adam Lanza, was a teacher at the Sandy Hook Elementary School — specifically that it was her class that Adam Lanza massacred.
But this story just out in the Journal suggests that’s not true.
Oddly, it’s buried down at the bottom of the story, almost as an afterthought …
A former school board official in Newtown called into question earlier reports that Nancy Lanza had been connected to Sandy Hook Elementary School, possibly as part of the teaching staff.
“No one has heard of her,” said Lillian Bittman, who served on the local school board until 2011. “Teachers don’t know her.”

This afternoon the story had changed to her being a ‘teacher’s assistant’. Could have been a volunteer. Typical fog of war stuff. First reports are rarely correct.
The MSM for the next several weeks will be falling all over themselves trying to out scoop the other, with all sorts of misleading stories. It’ll take awhile for the “responsible” people to sort all this out.
Well, she was either a teacher or not. And was she killed at home or at the school where people said no one knew her?
Heard tonight that the 4 guns recovered were all legal and in her name.
Something is not right here.

Well, they tout the “buzzing people in” thing. But why buzz someone in who has a bullet proof jacket and a rifle? I don’t get it.

I heard the rifle was found in his mother’s car.
The principal(May she rest in peace) recently got security cameras installed outside the school..this guy had to be buzzed in in order to get inside. They obviously knew who he was(Otherwise he wouldnt have been let inside the school) so Nancy Lamza(either being a teacher, a teacher’s aide, a volunteer, a substitute, etc) had a connection to that school
The irresponsible people. While plowing snow this afternoon I inadvertently tuned into NPR. The anti-gun bullshit was deeper than the snow!
He shot everyone with only hand guns?

I can believe that. NPR is disgusting. And we pay for that station.
Some of the earlier reports said that the rifle was found in the trunk of his car (his mother’s car, that is). Maybe he just brought the pistols into the school with him and left the rifle behind. Or maybe those reports were wrong.
His mother may have done some sort of work as a substitute teacher or something. My wife had a friend who worked in the lunchroom at our local school, and one year she agreed to take her place from time to time when her friend was unable to make it.
Hell they couldn’t get the shooter right it was first the 24 year old son now it’s the 20 year old brother because they found the older son at home and questioned him at length supposedly the younger sons name is Adam the older son is Ryan they plastered Ryans face all over this morning on the tube for an hour then OOOPS it disappeared then reluctantly they recanted our local news is still reporting it was the older brother ..
Now we have a shooter here in cincy outside Western hills High School no one shot but folks are freeking out it’s the effect the MSM wants !
It may be she is a “teacher assistant”, not a teacher. It's not unusual for these assistants to be called a teacher. That would be why the woman who had been on the school board would not have known her name. Other teachers also might not have known her name. In kindergarten, it's not unusual to have a helper in there as these 5 yr. olds have body needs and other issues that older kids don't have. The teacher can teach while the helper takes care of body issues and helps keep the kids focused.
If they have a snack in class, two adults is much better than one trying to keep the milk cartons on the desks instead of on the floor.
Since everything is so politicized (it only took about 10 seconds for the liberals to start banging the drum for more gun control), anything connected to the teaching profession has to be downplayed.
I don’t think that the mother has to be connected to the school. But it’s likely that the shooter is connected somehow. If his mother didn’t work or volunteer there, maybe it’s where he went to school as a kid. Or maybe it’s just the closest school to where he lives now, or one that he drives past frequently. Who knows what motivates a crazy person?
All articles I read earlier said she was shot at school. Tonight, said she was shot in the face at home.
