Is it a sustained anger?
Can it go on long enough to complete this sort of action.
They are not magic, but they give you a chance. Many people have stopped mass shootings from taking place. As you said, these people want to die, and they usually give up at the first sign of resistance. Much of the blame for these events rests with the media, which create an anti-hero out of the perp. Our media has made fame a much more desired characteristic than morality. This is the result, and why these things tend to happen in groups.
Better than taking guns away from law abiding people. I’d like to see some serious discussion about institutionalizing these nuts again. It might be a sticky subject, but surely the ones that are a clear and present danger to themselves and others can be identified. Although...who would trust our present government to do that either. They would probably designate the Tea Party people as ‘nuts’ and lock us all up...lol.
For society to protect there must be people in position (at all times) able and willing to protect society. LE cannot be everywhere at once. Legal carry citizens must take up and fill the voids. Liberals hate this idea because liberals believe this undermines their ability to protect. Of course if one waits on a liberal or LE one could wind up dead, but liberals would rather see you or your loved ones dead and red, than armed and have a chance. They prove it over and over again by saying it is the fault of the gun and not the fault of the shooter or the fact that if someone had been properly trained and in the area, this could have probably ended differently and lives may have possibly been saved. Yes, liberals would rather you be dead and red. This will become more about control of the law-abiding than about stopping this type of behavior. More gun free zones. More laws to make it more difficult to protect oneself and ones family. Never a law to make it more difficult for the criminal or the terrorist. That would be unjust or unfair per our elected.
Did the school have security people in the school prior to the attack?
If not, then that would mean that anybody could walk into the building before lockdown time.
This kid had to stand out like a sore thumb. Black paramilitary style clothes, too young looking to be a parent. Anybody taking a second look would have known that he was out of place.
It is great to have security protocols in place, but everyone has to take them seriously and respect them. I have a feeling that something went seriously wrong with the SOPs that were supposed to be in place. I hope somebody did not stop by the cafeteria in an attempt to score another donut or something.
I have seen a lot of talk on the web this evening about what if teachers had been packing. It may not have saved many lives, but if everybody knew that every adult in a school building was packing, then there would be far fewer of these episodes.
Let’s keep responding after the fact to mass shootings like this with body bags, rather than preempting them with some basic common sense.
The meaningful action is arm teachers now! Daaaaa! And if they are not sharp enough to be willing to defend their students, then they should not be teaching! It sadly has come to this now in America.
Rats are in somewhat of a quandary here: this heartbreak will finally cause some liberals to wise up and arm themselves. Zero will once again be the Salesman of the Year.
Trust me, i’d love to see some serious discussion too! but you’re right, we’d end up being the crazies! Same situation with my brother..anytime I try to bring up anything about my brother getting help or us as a family trying to help him, I get shut down & end up being the bad guy/gal. It’s beyond frustrating!
There were survivors to the shooting. If there were additional shooters involved, that would have come out by now.
What if Adam was the key to gaining entry and someone else was the shooter?
