NBC News White House correspondent Chuck Todd today called U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice a "victim" of conservative "advocacy media" while addressing her decision to withdraw from consideration for secretary of state.
"She became victim of the attacks. ... and it was all driven, in many cases, by conservative outlets who were making her the center of the Benghazi story," Todd told MSNBC's Martin Bashir. "There were legitimate questions to ask about the Benghazi story, but the idea that she belonged in the center of those attacks never made a lot of sense. She sort of became a victim of this.
"It's too easy now in the way our media landscape is set up: You can become collateral damage in a hurry, in the way you can just get piled on — whether it's Twitter, whether its advocacy journalism, talk radio. ... That's what she was. Make no mistake, she was political collateral damage," Todd said.

Obviously Chucky Bumps didn't get up in time to watch those five Sunday morning shows where Rice tried to blame a goofy YouTube video for Barry's stand down at Benghazi.
Andrea Mitchell must have gotten the same talkingpoints memo.
I was channel surfing and caught a few moments of NBC Nightly News.
Andrea Mitchell was reporting on Rice’s request to not be considered for the SoS position. Mitchell was claiming the mean ole obstructionist Republicans who were threatening to oppose Rice’s nomination as being behind Rice’s decision to not seek the position.
Mitchell’s allegations to blame the Republicans was extremely convoluted, but she gave the report with a straight face.
Truth is the victim of the Orwell-Stream Media.
Susan prostituted her high position of authority for some stupid political points on behalf of brocko. You just don’t do that. The fact that her points were bald-faced lies did not help.

Oddly enough, NBC never asked those questions: not the day of the attacks when everyone with common sense concluded that the rape/murder of our ambassador was a planned terrorist attack, not the same day in the face of a White House trial balloon that the attack was a negative film review complete with coordinated mortar fire, not when Susan Rice days later explained what happened with answers that made no logical sense and that were contradicted by obvious facts, and not today when NBC finally admits that there were "legitimate questions" but still fails to inquire regarding the answers to those questions. Journalism has a long and sad history of dishonest, one-sided reporting. Any brief shining moment of professionalism and integrity in the past has been totally obscured by a level of bias that even Joseph Goebbels would not have dared to order.

I guess that Todd overlooked the content of her character, her past history, and her propensity to error on the side of people not of the USA.

JFKerry is ‘due’ a promotion and since it is the Senate's job to approve the president's nominees, and liberals are in the majority in the Senate, Chuckie, might look closer to in the Senate as to why Susan is not who they want to fill that vacancy at the State Department.
